  • Patent number: 6067904
Abstract: An inking-pad printing press has at least one container (1) for inking a printing plate and a press device for pressing the container against the printing plate. The printing plate (2) and the container are moved in a mutually reciprocating manner by a drive mechanism in order to ink a printing block of the printing plate. During the inking process, the position of the container relative to the longitudinal axis of the printing block and hence to the printed image is varied by a further relative movement. This further relative movement is, for example, an oscillating, rolling, swaying, swinging or thrusting movement.

  • Patent number: 5669301
Abstract: A printing block is inked with a container containing printing ink, and printing formats or partial images are transferred to workpieces with a tampon. An edge of the container, which edge lies on the printing block, is rotated on the printing block around a vertical axis during a relative movement between the container and the printing block. As a result, the printing block can be used longer, and a clean print is guaranteed for a longer time in the case of abrasive printing inks.

  • Patent number: 5456170
Abstract: An ink ball printing machine has a slide 45 movable back and forth on a base plate 1 by a drive 25. The slide includes a U-shaped support 8, which is built like a box and made of sheet metal. A printing apparatus 37 and an inking system 18, which can be moved with the slide, are attached to two legs 9, 10 which project beyond the machine housing 2 and belong to the support. The sheet metal support enables a very inexpensive and yet stable fabrication of the ink ball printing machine.

  • Patent number: 5419247
Abstract: An ink container 1 has an open bottom surrounded by a closed sidewall 3 whose lower edge 3a bears against the upper surface of a flat printing plate 15. Ink 31 in the container is applied to the plate as the latter is reciprocated horizontally. An apertured baffle disk 10 is disposed within the container just above its open bottom, and prevents the ink from being frictionally drawn to one side by the moving plate. This assures a more uniform inking of the plate, and enables a lower ink level to be tolerated before the container has to be refilled.
