  • Publication number: 20120125613
Abstract: There is provided a portable oil extraction system comprising one or more high heat energy generators that supply high heat energy to an underground oil-rich zone. Each heat energy generator comprises a chamber for gasifying used rubber tires, waste oil, coal or other combustible materials for the production of volatile gases and high energy heat. Exhaust gases from the heat generator are piped underground into a zone of oil-rich material such as oilsands, oilshale, or contaminated soil to heat the oil-rich material therein to vaporize the hydrocarbons. Vacuum pressure withdraws the vaporized hydrocarbons from the underground oil-rich zone. The vaporized hydrocarbons are condensed and collected within a forced-air condenser for reuse. An optional second stage refrigeration unit condenses any residual vaporized hydrocarbons that may be missed by the forced-air condenser. No water or chemical additives are used in this environmentally benign process.

  • Publication number: 20110226673
Abstract: There is provided a portable oil isolation and decontamination system comprising a plurality of high heat energy generators that supply high heat energy to an oil isolation and decontamination unit. Each heat energy generator comprises a chamber for gasifying used rubber tires, waste oil, coal or other combustible materials for the production of volatile gases and high energy heat. The oil extractor unit comprises a pair of parallel, elongate rotating cylinders that each rotate within a common closed housing. Oil-rich material such as oilsands, oilshale, contaminated soil or used oil is introduced into one end of each rotating cylinder and is caused to migrate to the opposite end in cascading fashion as the cylinder rotates. High energy heat from the generators is directed at the rotating cylinders to indirectly heat the oil-rich material therein to vaporize the hydrocarbons as the rotating drum migrates the oil-rich material towards its collection end.

  • Publication number: 20100150658
Abstract: A process and system for oil-contaminated soil remediation and oil recovery from oil-bearing media such as oil-contaminated soil, different types of oil-bearing sludge's from oil producers, upgraders and refineries, oil shale, oil sands, and coal oil shale, oil sands and coal includes (1) a portable or fixed twin thermal desorption unit with two rotating trundles in one stationary house, and (2) multiple co-combustion burners burning coal, scrap tires, used oils, sludge's containing high oil content, propane and natural gas to supply heat for the twin desorption unit, and (3) a suction fan to create a slightly vacuum environment, receive vapors and send them to (4) a cooling line with a heavy component condenser to condense heavy oils, a set of air cooling pipe to condense light oils and steam and a three-phase (gas/oil/water) separation tank to separate oil from water, and (5) a feeding line with a blender to break wet lumps and a crasher to break rocks presence in the raw material being processed.
