Abstract: An alkaline hair bleaching composition comprising (a) from about 0.01% to about 12%, by weight, of at least one oxidizing agent; (b) from about 0.2% to about 20%, by weight, of a buffering system, present in an amount sufficient to generate a pH of the composition in the range from about 5 to about 11, wherein said buffering system comprises at least one pH modifying ingredient selected from the group consisting of (i) borates buffers, (ii) alkalizing agents, and mixtures thereof; (c) from about 150 ppm to about 5,000 ppm of at least one stabilizer; and (d) from about 0.01% to about 50%, by weight, of at least one hair care ingredient selected from the group consisting of (i) surfactants, (ii) catalysts, (iii) thickeners, (iv) conditioners, and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A hair coloring composition comprising: (a) from about 0.0003 moles (per 100 g of composition) to less than about 0.09 moles (per 100 g of composition) of an inorganic peroxygen oxidizing agent; and (b) an oxidative hair coloring agent; wherein the pH of each of (a) and (b) is in the range of from about 1 to about 6 and wherein the combined mixture of (a) and (b) has a pH in the range of from about 1 to about 6. The products can provide excellent hair coloring and in-use efficacy benefits including excellent initial color and good wash fastness in combination with reduced hair damage at low pH.

The products can provide excellent hair coloring and in-use efficacy benefits including excellent initial color and good wash fastness in combination with reduced hair damage at low pH.

The products can provide excellent hair coloring and in-use efficacy benefits including excellent initial color and good wash fastness in combination with reduced hair damage at low pH.

Abstract: A storage stable, re-usable hair coloring composition comprising: (a) an oxidizing agent; and (b) an oxidative hair coloring agent; wherein the pH of each of (a) and (b) is in the range of from about 1 to about 6 and wherein the combined mixture of (a) and (b) has a pH in the range of from about 1 to about 5 and wherein both (a) and (b) are capable of being stored at low pH, either separately, or, once mixed, for at least 1 month at room temperature and wherein the resultant color delivered to the hair (Delta E) is up to about 75%, preferably up to about 85%, more preferably up to about 90% and most preferably up to about 95% of the total color delivered to the hair (Delta E) from a mixture of (a) and (b) on mixing. The products are storage stable and re-usable and can provide excellent hair coloring and in-use efficacy benefits in combination with improved color retention potential after storage at room temperature.

Abstract: A hair coloring composition present in a single package suitable for direct application to the hair wherein the hair coloring mixture comprises: a) an oxidising agent; and b) an oxidative hair coloring agent; and wherein the combined mixture of a) and b) has a pH in the range of from about 1 to about 5 and wherein the resultant color delivered to the hair (Delta E), after at least about 1 month of storage at room temperature, is up to about 75%, preferably up to about 85%, more preferably up to about 90% and most preferably up to about 95% of the total color delivered to the hair (Delta E) from a mixture of a) and b) on application. The products are storage stable, re-usable and can provide both excellent hair coloring and in-use efficacy benefits as well as improved color development potential after storage at room temperature.

Abstract: Hair coloring compositions comprise a preformed organic peroxyacid oxidizing agent selected from the group consisting of (i) a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.12 alkyl group, and (ii) a compound of the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl and alkaryl groups with from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of alkylene, arylene and alkarylene groups containing from 1 to 14 carbon atoms, and R.sup.5 is selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, aryl and alkaryl groups containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and at least one oxidative hair coloring agent. The compositions are suitable for coloring human or animal hair and may be provided in a hair coloring kit comprising a single package including two separate bottles.

Abstract: Hair coloring compositions comprise (a) a water-soluble peroxygen oxidizing agent, (b) an organic peroxyacid precursor oxidizing aid, and (c) one or more oxidative hair coloring agents. The compositions may be used in processes for coloring human or animal hair and may be conveniently provided in kits wherein each of the aforementioned components are individually packaged.
