  • Patent number: 4949625
Abstract: A kit and assembly for making an air volume damper for use in the ductwork of a heating and ventilating system. The kit includes a long rod with a single bend at one end to form an L-shaped member, a hinge bracket for being riveted to a damper plate and receiving and captivating the bent section of the rod, a plate for being riveted to the outside of a duct and receiving the rod end through it, and a spring lock or latch member for being pop riveted to the plate and including a spring metal V-shaped section which receives the rod through two holes, one on each leg of the V-shaped section, and secures the rod by spring pressure. Compressing the legs of the V-shaped section together loosens the grip on the rod and allows it to be moved longitudinally to adjust a damper blade.

  • Patent number: 4798021
Abstract: A versatile and adaptable streamlined downrigger which, when pulled through water behind a boat, automatically and horizontally jigs a releasably-attached fishing line. The downrigger has a jigging line which is reeled in and pulled out of its housing. At the free end of this line is a finned release device which releasably captivates a fishing line. The fishing line is released upon striking of a fish. The housing has a set of fins which bias the downrigger's "swimming" position (left, right, or directly behind) relative to the point of attachment to the boat. This allows a number of downriggers to be used behind a small boat without the tangling of fishing or towing lines. The housing also mounts a propeller whose blades have fish-attractant prismatic reflective surfaces. Movement of the downrigger through the water causes the propeller to turn and to "flash" attractively.

  • Patent number: 4086667
Abstract: This invention relates to flush tank type toilets and is a device by which a long or short flush cycle may be selected by manipulation of the flush lever handle. The conventional flush uses the full contents of the flush tank and is selected when solid waste must be flushed through the toilet. The short flush uses a portion of the flush tank contents and is selected to conserve water when liquid waste is flushed. This device controls the lifting of the outlet stopper by providing float operated cam member (or members) acting on a rod link connected to the flush lever which lifts the stopper, holding the lever and stopper in the lifted position. When the water level in the tank drops below the float, the cam releases the rod link and the stopper will be force-seated into the discharge outlet of the tank by the water remaining in the tank.
