  • Publication number: 20230256352
Abstract: The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for simulating motion. In one aspect, a motion simulation system includes a weight bearing actuator and a positioning actuator assembly. The weight bearing actuator includes a pneumatic cylinder defining a cavity and a piston rod disposed at least partially within the cavity of the pneumatic cylinder. The first end of the piston rod and the cavity of the pneumatic cylinder define a volume of the pneumatic cylinder. The volume of the pneumatic cylinder is configured to be pressurized to support a weight of a payload. The positioning actuator assembly includes a positioning actuator with a stator and a rotor, and a connecting rod. The connecting rod is coupled to the rotor. The rotor is configured to rotate to translate the connecting rod and position the payload supported by the weight bearing actuator.

  • Patent number: 8636167
Abstract: A container assembly comprising a body and interlocking and self-actuating lid. The body has a bottom and at least one sidewall extending generally upwardly and includes at least one body interlock piece. The lid includes a lid interlock piece configured to releasably engage the body interlock piece. A first magnet is coupled to the body and a second magnet is coupled to the lid. The first and second magnet magnetically generate a first relative movement of the body and lid in a first direction when the first and second magnet are in a first orientation, wherein the first relative movement operatively engages the lid interlock piece with the body interlock piece. Additionally, the interengagement of the lid interlock piece and the body interlock piece during the first relative movement of the body and lid mechanically generate a second relative movement of the body and lid in a second direction.

  • Patent number: 8317048
Abstract: A self-activating closure mechanism is described. In certain embodiments, containers or closures have closure elements, which, upon being brought into proximity to each other, are drawn together and urged into alignment to engage locking members by magnets or other mutually attractive or repulsive elements, thereby providing a self-closing assembly.
