  • Patent number: 8726800
Abstract: A method for preparing a pressed article comprises providing a first and a second pressing ram in a compression chamber; supplying biomass particles in the chamber closing the chamber; extending the first pressing ram; displacing the biomass particles with the first pressing ram towards the second pressing ram; detecting abutment of the biomass particles on the second pressing ram; applying pressure to the biomass particles with the first pressing ram and with the second pressing ram detecting a pressure applied to match a predetermined pressure and continuing to extend the first and the second pressing ram until a predetermined time at the matched compression pressure has elapsed; stopping the extension of the second pressing ram when a predetermined extension length is reached; continuing to extend the first pressing ram until a predetermined additional time has elapsed after the stopping; ejecting a pressed article.

  • Patent number: 7686285
Abstract: An environmental chamber includes an ultrasonic nebulizer assembly for controlling the relative humidity within the chamber. The ultrasonic nebulizer assembly is connected in closed-loop fluid communication with an enclosed chamber of the environmental chamber and includes an ultrasonic nebulizer module to generate water vapor that is introduced into the enclosed chamber. The ultrasonic nebulizer module is constructed to be immersed in water within the ultrasonic nebulizer assembly and is readily replaceable by the user. A nebulizer hour timer is provided to monitor the length of time of the ultrasonic nebulizer is operating to provide a precise indication to the user of how much life is left in the ultrasonic nebulizer before it needs to be replaced.

  • Publication number: 20070069538
Abstract: A hoist assembly and system capable of being adjusted prior to the lifting and transporting of the loads to accommodate infinite center of gravity changes on loads, such that no changes in position occur during the lifting and transporting process.

  • Publication number: 20060208040
Abstract: Adaptable spring force clamping apparatus and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes at least one elongated member adapted to be positioned proximate to a surface of a work piece. The elongated member includes first and second end portions adapted to be secured to substantially prevent movement of the elongated member relative to the surface. A plurality of pressure applying devices are operatively attached to the elongated member, each pressure applying device including a contact member moveable relative to the elongated member and adapted to engage the surface of the work piece, and a resilient member operatively coupled to the contact member and to the elongated member.

  • Patent number: 5690639
Abstract: An improved wrench for use in a surgical setting in which a surgical fastener, such as a pin, is supported at a mid-section as well as its base end. The invention uses a tool which has a handle and a mating portion for the surgical pin. This mating portion may be a pong to engage a slot at the pin's base, a hexagonal head to surround the pin's hexagonal shaped base, a semi-circle, or many other such mechanisms well known to those in the art. A sleeve member extends from around the mating portion to extend to a mid-section of the surgical pin to provide sliding support for the surgical pin.
