  • Patent number: 8128522
Abstract: An arrow fletching system having a continuous roll or individual lengths of base material to which is applied a series of fins or vane segments. The benefit of this fletching system is that an arrow can be fletched with an equal number of vane segments in each fletching area without measuring and/or weighing each of the sections. This results in a balanced arrow which can be easily modified to add or reduce the number of segments. Fins or vane segments may by slitted for greater flexibility along their top edges.

  • Patent number: 5547200
Abstract: A nock system including an insert and a nock. The insert having an introduction end, a receiving end located opposite the introduction end, a substantially cylindrical body extending from the receiving end to the introduction end, and a receiving chamber having an opening at the receiving end and extending a distance into the cylindrical body. The receiving chamber is axially aligned and communicates with a threaded duct which extends farther through the cylindrical body toward the introduction end. The nock comprises a string receiving end for receiving a bow string and an engaging shank located opposite the string receiving end. The engagement shank has a shape and size permitting self-tapping, threaded engagement between the engaging shank and the threaded duct. A compression shank extends between the furrowed end and the engaging shank. The compression shank has a shape and size to produce a friction fit within the receiving chamber as the engaging shank is positioned within the threaded duct.

  • Patent number: 5516117
Abstract: A dual-purpose arrow shaft insert for pressing into a hollow arrow shaft at either end of the arrow shaft to facilitate the attachment of a nock or arrow point thereto. The insert has an introduction end, a receiving end, and a central cylindrical portion connecting the introduction end to the receiving end. A receiving orifice is formed within the receiving end and extends from the receiving end into the central cylindrical portion of the insert and terminates in a threaded opening which continues farther into the central cylindrical portion toward the introduction end. The receiving orifice is so sized and configured so as to be capable of receiving the shank of a nock. Without any modification, the dual-purpose insert may also receive a point through the receiving orifice. The threaded rod attached to the arrow point is thrust through a shock absorbing sleeve and both are then pressed into the receiving orifice.

  • Patent number: 5492439
Abstract: A multi-purpose arrow shaft assembly tool is provided having several implements capable of being received within a handle. One of the implements is an insert arbor over which point inserts and nock inserts may be placed which the inserts are heated and inserted into the hollow arrow shaft. To aid in preparing the shaft for receipt of the inserts, a facing cutter and a burring tool are also provided. The facing cutter has an arbor which guides the cutting blade of the facing cutter to produce a perpendicular cut relative to the longitudinal axis of the arrow shaft. The burr is housed within the handle so that the interior of the handel serves as a guide when deburring the arrow shaft. A nock adjusting implement is also provided which not only aids in the rotation of a friction fit nock within the nock insert, but also serves to record and transfer the relationship between the groove in the nock and one of the veins so that indexing of one arrow may be transferred to other arrows.
