    Abstract: The present invention provides a method of thermal management for a power train. The temperature power source of the powertrain is continuously monitored. A heating request of is generated if the temperature of the power source falls below a threshold. In response to the heating request, the power controller of the powertrain generates a three-phase current to operate the asynchronous electric motor of the powertrain. The thermal energy therefore generated by the asynchronous electric motor is then provided to the power source for heating up the power source.
