  • Publication number: 20060221265
Abstract: An apparatus and methods that facilitate efficient and easy installation of a display screen and protective shield onto a cabinet of a display unit such as a projection TV (PTV) and the like. Preferably, a screen frame and bezel clip system includes a bezel clip having a latch arm releaseably coupleable to catch arm extending from or attached to a cabinet side wall of a display unit. The bezel clip further includes one or more receptacles sized and shaped to receive and retain a side or edge portion of one or more screens. The catch arm is preferably deformable under pressure and returns to a pre-stressed orientation when the pressure is removed. Alternatively, a screen frame and bezel mount system includes a stiffener member adapted to couple a bezel member to a cabinet side wall of a display unit. The bezel member includes one or more receptacles sized and shaped to receive and retain a side or edge portion of one or more screens.

  • Publication number: 20050181255
Abstract: The invention relates to the structures of proton exchange membranes with different molecular permeabilities, especially to the proton exchange membranes suitable for the applications in Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) and with the function of recovering water from the cathode. The polymeric structures are the designs of phase separated structures of the crystalline phase and the amorphous phases, thereby limiting the swelling of the materials and the space of ionic cluster structures in nano-scale to reduce the permeability of methanol fuels. On the other hand, by controlling of polymeric grafting reactions result in the reverse (from the cathode to the anode) permeability of the product water molecules on the cathode in the proton exchange materials greater than the permeability of methanol molecules in the fuels (from the anode to the cathode) due to the differences of fuel concentrations between the cathode and the anode of DMFC.

  • Publication number: 20050154126
Abstract: A fluoropolymer blend with high ionic conductivity that can be applied in electroactive polymer composite includes following components: PVDF-g-SPS (styrene-grafted and sulfonated PVDF); PVDF; and hydrocarbon- or fluoro-elastomer. PVDF-g-PS(styrene-grafted PVDF) ? PVDF and hydrocarbon- or fluoro-elastomer are mixed with specific proportion and being dissolved in an aprotic solvent?the solution is then cast film on a substrate followed by sulfonation to give the aforementioned compound membrane. The obtained compound membrane has excellent properties, such as thermal stability, acid-alkali resistance, good mechanical performance, excellent flexibility, and capability for processing appropriate cross-link for further enhancing the mechanical performance of this membrane.

  • Publication number: 20040126638
Abstract: Layered proton exchange membrane and method for preparing the same. The layered proton exchange membrane comprises an organic/inorganic composite membrane and at least one proton exchange membrane wherein the organic/inorganic composite membrane comprises inorganic proton conductors and an organic base polymer. The method comprises mixing inorganic proton conductors with an organic base polymer to form an organic/inorganic composite membrane, and combining the organic/inorganic composite membrane with at least one proton exchange membrane.

  • Publication number: 20030166773
Abstract: A fluoropolymer composite with high ionic conductivity that may be applied in electroactive polymer composite includes following components: PVDF-g-SPS; PVDF; and hydrocarbon- or fluoro-elastomer. After being mixed with specific proportion and being dissolved in an oily or non-oily solvent of non-proton or proton of high boiling point, the invention is coated on a substrate and is heated to get rid of the solvent afterwards to get a compound membrane. Then, a compound membrane of PVDF-g-SPS may be obtained by sulphonating the aforementioned compound membrane. The obtained compound membrane has excellent properties, such as thermal stability, acid-alkali resistance, good mechanical performance, excellent flexibility, and capability for processing appropriate cross-link for further enhancing the mechanical performance of this membrane.
