  • Publication number: 20190366349
Abstract: The rock crusher has hammers mounted to a rotor and anvils mounted to its casing. First and second anvil sets define a convex surface arrangement facing the rotor and second and third anvil sets define a concave surface arrangement facing the rotor. The anvil sets are oriented to reduce compaction of rocks in the infeed portion of the crusher, and to reduce compaction of aggregate in the casing of the rock crusher. In relation to the movement of each hammer along their work sector, the two operations mentioned above are carried out before a third portion of the work sector wherein rocks are directed to rebound and impact the hammers head-on along the work circle of the hammers. The rock crusher is directly driven by the engine of a potato harvester, wherein the engine, the fan of the harvester and the rock crusher share a common inertia.

  • Publication number: 20190365072
Abstract: A gaiter-containing pouch for use with a number of boots or other footwear. The pouch is comprised of an inner wall, an outer wall, with the gaiter held between them. The back of the inner wall includes a fixation surface to allow it to be attached to any of a number of different types of boots. The outer wall includes one or more enclosure means that allows the outer wall to be attached to the inner wall when the gaiter is contained inside the pouch in a storage position. The enclosure means can be released allowing access to the gaiter for use. When the gaiter is no longer required, the gaiter can be collapsed into the pouch and the enclosure means used to close the pouch.

  • Publication number: 20140215770
Abstract: A connector for use with a drawstring is described which allows a user to attach one or more flexible elongate closure means, e.g. drawstrings together. A first end of the connector is mountable to a first end of a flexible elongate closure means. A second end of the connector is mountable either to a second end of the same or to another flexible elongate closure means. A swivel means may be situated between the first and second ends of the connector for rotating the ends and assist in fastening the connector to the drawstring. The connector may be a permanent fixture to a drawstring or a releasable attachment. The connector may be used in a method of replacing a drawstring of a product with a second drawstring. An end of a first drawstring is connected to an end of the second drawstring via the connector. The first drawstring is pulled until the connected second drawstring has replaced a position of the first drawstring on the product, then the drawstrings are disconnected at the connector.

  • Publication number: 20110231745
Abstract: Technology for creating slideshows is described. In various embodiments, the technology receives from a first client computing device, a request to create a slideshow; receives from the first client computing device an indication of a location of two or more content elements; retrieves from the indicated location the two or more content elements; identifies geographical locations associated with each of the retrieved two or more content elements; creates a slideshow containing the retrieved two or more content elements and at least one transition; and transmits a pointer to the created slideshow.

  • Patent number: 7023001
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for engraving materials such as fused silica or ceramic by continuously actuating a laser producing a Gaussian beam, directing the beam towards the surface of the substrate and moving the beam relative to the surface of the substrate so that a V-groove is obtained by laser ablation of the substrate. The depth of the groove, the angle of the top of the groove, can be controlled by the relative speed between the laser beam and the substrate, the power density and the width of the laser beam, the polarization of the laser beam and the incident angle of the laser beam with respect to the surface. A method for treating an optical fiber connector is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020160034
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the sustained endovascular treatment of aneurysms, such as intracranial or for closing any body lumen, such as vascular lumen or other using an occlusion device for the local delivery of biologically active DNA therapeutic molecules. The invention also relates to a method for a rapid preparation of the artificial occlusion device to be coated shortly before or during the clinical procedure. A subsequent step in the method of treatment involves introducing at an aneurysm site or inside a vessel a slow-releasing, biologically active DNA molecule-leaching device. The device releases a biologically active DNA molecule at the aneurysm site for stimulating neointima formation and for increasing neointima thickness. The neointima formation fills the aneurysm and the biologically active DNA molecule released in the aneurysm is absorbed by surrounding tissues of the aneurysm for providing long-term treatment of the aneurysm preventing recanalisation.

  • Publication number: 20020119178
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for delivering locally therapeutic agents within adjacent tissues such as an arterial wall for treating vascular diseases. The device comprises i) an endovascular device, ii) an hydrophobic linker molecule containing a diazonium moiety electrodeposited onto the surface of the endovascular device, and iii) a lipophilic drug passively deposited on the linker molecule, said drug binding to the linker molecule through hydrophobic interactions for elution from the endovascular device over time. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing such device.

  • Patent number: 6339071
Abstract: The present invention relates to antisense oligonucleotides directed to the human cyclin E gene for inhibiting its expression, and to a method for inhibiting cellular proliferation. The antisense oligonucleotides of the present invention have been designed from the 5′ and 3′-untranslated region of the cyclin E gene for inhibiting the expression of the cyclin E gene. These antisense oligonucleotides can be used for research purposes, diagnostics and treatment of disease. Methods for specifically modulating cyclin E expression in cells and tissues using the antisense oligonucleotides are disclosed. Methods for diagnosis, detection and treatment of pathologies involving cyclin E gene are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 3980855
Abstract: Method and apparatus for dissipating high frequency electromagnetic energy inside a material. The apparatus comprises a conductive jacket defining a resonant chamber, a coil inside said chamber connected to a coaxial cable supplied by a high frequency generator, the frequency of which is equal to the resonant frequency of the chamber. The impedance of the resonator and its contents is matched to that of the coaxial cable. Automatic means may be provided for altering the resonator impedance to compensate for changes in load impedance.
