  • Patent number: 9289548
Abstract: An ambulatory medical device is presented. The ambulatory medical device comprises a function module to provide the intended functionality of the device, a controller module to control the device, a sound generation module with an acoustic transducer to produce an acoustic signal and a signal generator to drive the acoustic transducer with a certain frequency. The signal generation module is arranged within a housing of the device. A tuning module varies the frequency used by the signal generator to drive the acoustic transducer and determines one or more frequencies that correspond to an optimum sound level of the acoustic signal outside of the housing of the device. The optimum sound level of the acoustic signal is a maximum sound level outside of the housing of the device, and/or a maximum perceivable sound level as determined by a user.

  • Patent number: 9084848
Abstract: A device and method for stimulating tissue to improve the resorption kinetics of an active substance. The device and method can include an infusion set having a main body, a cannula, and a base plate through which the cannula projects so that the cannula can puncture into a tissue of an animal to deliver the active substance.

  • Patent number: 8715268
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an administration device for subcutaneous administration of a liquid drug over an extended period of time is provided. The administration device may include an administration unit, a housing, and a controller unit. The administration unit may include a drug reservoir and a pump unit. The housing may include the administration unit and may be adapted to be carried by a patient over an extend period of time. The controller unit may include a bolus administration profile controller. The bolus administration profile controller receives a bolus volume of a bolus to be administered and determines based, at least in part, on the bolus volume a bolus administration profile such that a depot volume of a depot is limited.

  • Patent number: 8352196
Abstract: Embodiments of an assessment method for processing a signal corresponding to a glucose concentration and performing a retrospective analysis includes the steps of: a) initiating a first trigger, wherein the first trigger defines the beginning of a segment of a continuous measurement of glucose concentration or define the first of a series of spot measurements of glucose concentration; b) collecting data of the continuous measurement or the series of spot measurements of glucose concentration to be analyzed, wherein the collected data relates to a glucose concentration excursion corresponding to a reaction to a relevant event such as a meal or physical activity; c) analyzing the collected data initiated by a second trigger, wherein the second trigger defines the end of the collected data to be analyzed, wherein a measure for a grading of the excursion is determined from the collected data, and d) displaying the result of the analysis.
