  • Patent number: 4934676
Abstract: A drive for a machine vice having a vice body (8), a fixed jaw (9) and a movable jaw (4), a drive spindle (1) rotatably mounted in a thrust block (6) at one end of the vice body adjacent the movable jaw, a slide or drive nut (29) for the movable jaw cooperatively engaging drive screw threads (30) on the spindle so that rotation of the latter actuates the movable jaw, these parts extending on one side of the thrust block (6), a threaded sleeve (11) mounted in the thrust block, an extension (13) on the drive spindle extending rotatably and slidably through the thrust collar, a chamber drive unit (15) threadedly engaged (14) with extension (13) at one end and threadedly engaged at the other end with crankshaft (16) driven at its outer end by a crank (3) so that the crank rotates the drive spindle.

  • Patent number: 4856359
Abstract: A mechanical servo unit comprises a primary element (9) having a wedge portion (10,11), a single pair of pressure rollers (1,2) and members (7,8) each having a pair of substantially even counter surfaces (2, 5 and 4, 6) formed thereon, one of the members (8) abutting a secondary element (19) and all being arranged within a cylindrical housing (12) the pairs of the counter surfaces (3, 4 and 5, 6) defining a narrowing aperture (15,16) therebetween and pressure rollers (1,2) being supported directly on the counter surfaces (3, 4, 5, 6) wherein action or movement of primary element (9) toward secondary element (19) is transmitted via wedge portion (10, 11), rollers (1, 2) and counter surfaces (3, 4, 5, 6) to secondary element (19) for transmission of amplified action.

  • Patent number: 4684115
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine tool vice having a vice body and a slide guided in the vice body, with a clamping mechanism working between the vice body and the slide, in which there are two jaws, which are connected with the vice body and the slide respectively and of which the fixed jaw is designed in a bridge-like design and secured such that it can be detached. The clamping mechanism is arranged beneath the clamping zone formed by the jaws, and the slide is arranged in a longitudinal recess, open at the top, and extending generally over the entire length of the vice body. The vice body or the slide is provided with several means of retention which can be used selectively for the jaws. Alternatively several interchangeable jaws be used selectively, and all jaws are mounted on the vice body and the slide such that they can be detached.

  • Patent number: 4669712
Abstract: A high pressure clamping device having a screw vice body, a fixed jaw arranged on one of the ends of the screw vice body, and a slide, which is retained in a guide on the screw vice body and carries a jaw movable relative to the fixed jaw. A reaction block is provided on the other end of the screw vice body to co-operate with a tensioning drive of the movable jaw, which drive consists of a force intensifier or slave unit and a threaded spindle, which can be driven by means of a common crank. The threaded spindle engages in a spindle nut of the slide. The movable jaw is positioned above the force intensifier in the retracted position of the slide and is arranged in the screw vice body between the reaction block and the threaded spindle. The spindle nut which is formed in an extension of the slide, exerts a forward twisting and downwardly directed tensioned pull on the movable jaw in its clamping position.
