  • Patent number: 5401008
Abstract: A controllable motor bearing consisting of a journal bearing and a support which are connected parallel to one another by means of a first and a second spring element made of rubber. One of the spring elements can be locked in place by an auxiliary mechanism, if necessary. The first spring element is structured in the form of a ring, and has an inside diameter which is larger than the outside diameter of the second spring element. The first spring element overlaps the second spring element at least partially in the axial direction. The auxiliary mechanism consists of a support element which at least partially surrounds the second spring element at a radial distance. The second spring element has a recess which has an expanse and position in the axial direction which cooperates with the support element. A fluid medium can be fed into the recess.

  • Patent number: 5299789
Abstract: In a variable-resilience engine mount a top member rests on two rubber spring elements which, in turn, rest on a parallel base. An ancillary component deactivates one of the spring elements when necessary. A first, outer spring element extends axially at least part-way up the second, inner spring element. The second spring element has a cavity at its center. A fluid can be injected into the cavity to inflate and expand the second spring element. The cavity will continue to inflate, making the mount less resilient as more fluid is injected, until it is stopped by a reinforcement surrounding it.

  • Patent number: 4379386
Abstract: In an open-end spinning apparatus with an opening roller 2 and a supply device 1, a sliver clamp 5 associated with the supply device 1 is provided to interrupt the sliver feed and can be actuated when the supply roller 10 continues to run by a yarn monitor 31 or a lap monitor 12. In the fiber transport direction, a further, second sliver clamp 6, actuable simultaneously with the first sliver clamp 5 is arranged in front of the supply device 1 at a distance which is as large as the average staple fiber length. Preferably the moving part 62 of the further sliver clamp 6 is rigidly connected to the clamping lever 53 of the first sliver clamp 5.

  • Patent number: 4030165
Abstract: A series of roller pairs in the drafting zone of sliver drafting apparatus have toothed or needlelike projections. The projections are spaced circumferentially and axially of the rollers so that projections of cooperating rollers either within a pair or between rollers of adjacent pairs are periodically interdigitated, as seen axially of the rollers, in spaced relationship as the rollers rotate at constant angular velocity. The rollers carry toothed wheels engageable for positive drive without backlash by a toothed belt. The upper rollers of the pairs are driven by a common endless loop belt and the lower rollers by a second belt. Each belt passes over a spring-loaded jockey roller which tensions the belt and which can be moved against the spring force in response to overloading tension on the belt caused by retardation of roller rotation in response to excessive fibres between a roller pair. Such movement of the jockey roller actuates a limit switch to shut off the belt drive motor.
