  • Patent number: 5547359
Abstract: An apparatus for adding a moulded polymer part upon a peripheral portion of a glazing including: a mould member having upper and lower portions which form a cavity which corresponds to the desired shape of the polymer part, alignment rods and apertures for positioning the mould member against the peripheral surface of the glazing, and an injection orifice in the mould member for introducing material for forming the polymer part in the mold cavity. At least one sealing slat extends from the mould member for contact with the glazing surface to form part of the mould cavity. At least one plate member is slideably mounted between the upper and lower mold portions for defining the portion of the cavity which contacts the lip of the polymer part.

  • Patent number: 5143196
Abstract: A glazing production line includes a plurality of workstations at which tasks are performed on glass sheets, and a conveying system for transporting the glass sheets to each workstations, including at least one mobile support. An attachment system is utilized to attach the glass sheet to the mobile support, and a positioning system is utilized to precisely arrange the glass sheet, which is attached to the mobile support, relative to the workstation so that the task can be performed on the sheet.

  • Patent number: 5108526
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for extruding a polymer profile directly onto the surface of a glass plate and particularly along a peripheral edge thereof. The extruded polymer profile is provided with a sealing and centering lip located on and projecting over the circumferential peripheral surface of the glass plate. The extrusion die has at least one supply channel for the polymer to be extruded. One supply channel or portion thereof leads the polymer material substantially to the portion of the die orifice directed toward the center of the plate. The other supply channel essentially supplies the portion of the orifice directed toward the outside. The supply channel may be provided with a shutoff device which regulates the volume flow. The regulation of the shutoff device takes place as a function of the radius of curvature (R) of the path covered by the extrusion die.
