  • Patent number: 5502987
Abstract: A system for controlling the horizontal movements of yarn carrier bars in an automatic loom or knitting machine includes a plurality of yarn carrier bars mounted for horizontal movement, a respective stepper motor operatively connected to each yarn carrier bar to control its movement, a respective programmable motor control unit electrically coupled to each stepper motor, a programmable central controller electrically coupled to all motor control units, an electrical power supply, and an energy storage means which provides sufficient energy for operation of the stepper motors and control units for a short period when power from the power supply is unavailable. Each stepper motor includes an output shaft, and a respective shaft position encoder measures and supplies output shaft position information to the motor control unit.

  • Patent number: 5259216
Abstract: In a knitting machine, a plurality of stepping motors (10) is controlled by an electronic control unit (35) and each motor transmits horizontal oscillations to a tube bar (5). Each oscillation is built up of a plurality of horizontal-movement steps, each step being delimited between two limit points to which a centered positioning of the threading tubes (8) in the spaces defined between the needles (9) corresponds. A photoelectric sensor interlocked to the control unit detects the passage before a given read point of optical locators reproduced on plate-like elements, each associated with the drive shaft of one of the motors, in order to check whether the individual bars perform correct movements. Should a cutoff in the electric supply to the knitting machine (4) occur, each tube bar (5) would be stopped at anyone of the limit points.

  • Patent number: 4984437
Abstract: A driving mechanism (1) comprising first and second drive shafts (10, 22) respectively causing the movement, through first and second eccentrics (17, 24) of a needle bar (3) and one or several tube-bars (5). Also mounted on the drive shafts (10, 22) are auxiliary eccentrics (18, 26) which control the movements of respective counterweights (21, 28) in phase opposition relative to the oscillatory movements transmitted to the needle-bar (3) and tube-bars (5), in order to counterbalance the forces of inertia resulting from the reciprocating movements imparted to the bars (3, 5) themselves.

  • Patent number: 4876862
Abstract: The device comprises a number of threading tubes 2 oscillatably mounted on a thread guide rail 5 provided with an oscillatory motion. Each theading tube 2 is movable against the action of a first return spring 6, upon command of an actuation cable 9 guided within a sheath 10 and connected to a control plate 19 selectively operable in synchronism with the thread guide rail 5. Each sheath 10 has one end 10a which is fixed with respect to the thread guide rail 5 and a second end 10b connected to a fixed support 11, a second return spring 15 being interposed therebetween, the stiffness of said second spring 15 being greater than that of the first return spring 6. A preloading plate 17fastened to the fixed support 11 acts upon locating elements 13 in order to keep said second return springs in a preloading condition.

  • Patent number: 4845962
Abstract: It is described a fabric heating unit 1 comprising a pair of heating elements 7, 8 each of them exhibiting an active surface 10a designed to come in contact with one of the faces of a fabric 3 coming out of a crochet galloon loom. Associated with each heating element is an insulating shield rotatably pivoted according to an axis parallel to the respective heating element. The insulating shields can be simultaneously brought from a rest position in which each of them is disposed close to the respective heating element on the side opposite that facing the fabric, to an operating position in which each shield is interposed between the heating element and the fabric to separate and thermally insulate the latter from the heating element.

  • Patent number: 4841750
Abstract: The control member herein described comprises an electromagnet 30 which is fixed with respect to a thread guide rail and acts on a swinging arm 37 l pivoted with respect to the electromagnet itself and slidably engaging a lifter 14. Due to the energization of the electromagnet 30 the swinging arm 37, is brought, against the action of a return spring 39, from a rest position in which the lifter is disposed in a disengagement condition, to a working position in which the lifter is in an engagement condition and is engaged by actuator means oscillating in synchronism with the thread guide rail in order to cause the actuation of a threading tube associated with said lifter.

  • Patent number: 4838047
Abstract: A device comprising at least an eccentric 7 connected via a connecting rod 6 to a respective lever 2 fulcrumed on a fixed structure 3 and connected to a thread guide rail 4 to impart it an alternate longitudinal motion. The eccentric is mounted on a shaft 8 on which an idle wheel 12 connected to a drive wheel 10 through a toothed belt 11 is keyed. The drive wheel performs alternate rotational motions by means of a kinematic connecting rod-crank mechanism 14. The gear ratio between the drive wheel and the idle wheel is such as to impart the eccentric an alternate rotatory motion according to an arc A slightly bigger than 180.degree.. The movement of the eccentric causes the thread guide rail to be substantially subjected to prolong its pause times during the movement reversals.

  • Patent number: 4835990
Abstract: The device herein described comprises a pair of pulling rollers 3 which engage a manufactured article 4 produced by knitting members 5 acting upstream of the pulling rollers themselves, in order to interlace weft yarns with warp yarns 4a. A first driving mechanism 6 connects the pulling rollers 3 to a rotating main shaft 7, so that the pulling rollers too are rotated in order to pull the manufactured article apart from the knitting members during the operation of the loom. The device further comprises feed rollers 17, 18 rotated by a second driving mechanism 22 connecting them to the first driving mechanism. Feed rollers 17, 18 act upstream of the knitting members, upon the warp yarns 4a to move them forward towards the knitting members 5 and give them an appropriate tensioning.

  • Patent number: 4699331
Abstract: The creel structure of the invention comprises a supporting framework 2 consisting of posts 3 and cross-pieces 4 disposed according to a parallelepiped configuration and a secondary frame 5 consisting of two cross-pieces 6 and a number of posts 7 each of them being provided with supports 8 for the bobbins 9 extending in opposite direction towards opposed parallel planes defined by the most extending surfaces of the parallelepiped framework configuration. In each of said planes an alveolus-like structure 11 formed of hexagonal meshes 12 extends and to each of said meshes is fastened a first thread tension device 13, said supports for the bobbins being distributed according to a symmetrically offset configuration. Second thread tension devices 28 are provided and they are located on support bars 29 mounted in cantilevered fashion on the posts 3 of the supporting framework 2, the second thread tension devices 28 of each support bar 29 corresponding to one horizontal row of the supports 8.
