  • Patent number: 9861217
Abstract: A clamp adapted to retain paintings which includes a female piece rotatably connected to a male piece. The proximal end of the female piece includes a sloped locking shoulder which engages a distally extending horizontal flange in the proximal end of the male piece in order to lock the clamp.

  • Patent number: 8210845
Abstract: A two piece orthodontic pliers having a pair of arms separably hinged together, in which a first hinge portion on a first arm includes a shaft having a central, axially projecting protrusion, and a second hinge portion on a second arm includes a bore having a central recess for receiving the shaft and the central protrusion of the first hinge portion.

  • Patent number: 6000941
Abstract: A separable pliers having a pair of arms separably hinged together. They may be separated only when the handles are far enough apart. A lip on one handle, and a hook on a bias spring integral with the other handle engage one another to restrain the handles from opening that far unless and until the spring is bent to release the hook from the lip, after which the arms can be separated.

  • Patent number: 5232360
Abstract: Plier-like instruments for dental and medical use which can be readily disassembled for cleaning and sterilization and then quickly reassembled for use. No additional tools are needed for assembly and disassembly, and the manipulations are simple motions that may be accomplished even under sterile conditions wearing surgical gloves. The handles are spread apart to disengage circular segments of locking ribs on one handle with circular segments of channel and retaining lips on the other handle. A piloting shaft equipped with expanding spring ring maintains smooth, aligned operation of the instruments. There are no loose parts to manipulate in assembly or disassembly, and no additional tools are required.

  • Patent number: 4807311
Abstract: A bidet attachment for conventional commodes which have a bowl. The attachment has a swing arm with a spray head that can be moved toward and away from the center of the bowl. The arm is mounted by a swivel mount. The swivel mount includes anti-siphon means, and a safety valve. The safety valve closes the system unless the swing arm is in place, thus making safe the use of a swing arm which can readily be removed for cleaning or storage.

  • Patent number: 4680825
Abstract: A device for sensing the amount of force applied to teeth during brushing. The device consists of a single toothbrush holder in which a toothbrush is pivotally supported by means of teeth and spring rib. A metal spring is arranged to provide an adjustable resistance force against pivotal movement of the toothbrush. A conventional light pen is employed to sense and indicate the pivotal movement.

  • Patent number: 4476604
Abstract: A device for sensing the amount of force applied to the teeth during brushing is disclosed. The device includes a toothbrush holder pivotally supported inside a sleeve. O-rings mounted on the holder act both as fulcrum for the holder and as resistance members to resist the pivoting of the holder inside the sleeve. An adjustment cap is threadedly mounted on the sleeve and can adjustably compress the O-rings to provide variable resistance to the pivoting of the holder. An electrical circuit comprised of fixed and floating contacts detects the holder pivotal movement and lights up a bulb to indicate that the holder is pivoting. A battery is carried in the sleeve to power the circuit.

  • Patent number: 4365419
Abstract: A device and method for aligning the machine head of machines such as milling machines. A disk having a lapped flat surface is to be attached to the spindle of the machine, and the axis of the spindle can readily and accurately be set perpendicular to the two milling machine table axes. A hub is attached to the disk, with an axis vertical to the flat surface. The hub is used to attach the disk to the spindle. The disk has a plurality of equally spaced indicia around near its edge so that the high point and low point can be determined by placing a feeler gage on the machine table and tracking the flat surface. An axis accurately perpendicular to the machine head axis (spindle axis) will exist half-way between the high and low points on the edge disk as determined by the feeler gage. The machine head may now be accurately adjusted relative to the table by adjusting it so that a feeler gage shows no variation when the said perpendicular axis is tracked in the two milling machine table axial directions.

  • Patent number: 4333651
Abstract: A game in which a club is provided having a handle and a head for striking a ball toward a target. The club head has a pivoted striker plate which is spring biased and latched to snap open and strike a ball placed adjacent the face. The latch in the head locks the striker plate closed and a plunger is provided for releasing the striker plate to strike a ball toward a target. The handle includes means for adjusting the bias on the spring operating the striker plate to vary the striking force.
