  • Publication number: 20210259902
Abstract: The plantar flexure muscles assist device includes at least one drive mechanism (10) having a linear drive actuator (26); a latch mechanism (25) having a toothed annular surface coupled to the linear drive; a retractable rotating element having a toothed drum (24) and an elastic spiral element (23). The toothed drum has an annular groove and where the toothed drum corresponds to the toothed lock mechanism; a rope (28) wound in the annular groove of the toothed drum with one end attached to the elastic element (2); and a casing (21, 27) for containing the elements of the drive mechanism; a control system to send a signal to the linear actuator to activate or deactivate the locking mechanism, and a battery to supply power to the control system. The lightweight activation mechanism, together with the lightweight structure, allows the elastic element to store mechanical energy while the dorsiflexion movement occurs.

  • Publication number: 20210081741
Abstract: An identification badge system has an image relaying device for communicating an electronic image, a base station for communicating with the image relaying device, a readiness indicator, and a reusable badge. The base station has at least one docking receptacle for docking the badge. The badge has a housing and an e-paper display. The housing docks for communicating the electronic image from the base station to the e-paper display and/or for charging. The e-paper display maintains the electronic image when the badge is removed from the receptacle. The base station erases the electronic image from the e-paper display when the badge is re-docked. The badge has an RFID tag for communication with standard access control readers, writers and controllers and has a Wi-Fi transponder and associated circuitry for tracking visitor locations by sending a RF signal to Wi-Fi routers or Bluetooth beacons. Visitor location can also be ascertained using GPS.

  • Patent number: 10152668
Abstract: An identification badge system having an image relaying device for communicating an electronic image, a base station for communicating with the image relaying device, a readiness indicator, and a reusable badge. The badge has a housing, a colored e-paper display, a radio frequency identification tag, and a Wi-Fi transponder and related circuitry that sends radio frequency signals to Wi-Fi routers or Bluetooth beacons in the facility using the system for real-time location tracking of the badge using GPS. Backscatter can be used to encode information on the Wi-Fi signals with little or no battery energy. Tracking information can be stored apart from the badge. The base station has at least one docking receptacle for docking the badge for charging only or also for communication of the electronic image to the badge e-paper display and for erasing the image from the display.

  • Patent number: 9180364
Abstract: A primary game controller for use by a mobility impaired person by interfacing with a peripheral controller that allows the user to input precise movements needed for certain game functions. The peripheral controller may be operated by a part of a user's body in which the user has sufficient motor control, while the primary game controller may provide control inputs that require lesser motor control to operate. A control unit on the game controller may transmit control signals from the game controller and the peripheral controller, or may exclusively use the peripheral controller as the input for certain game functions. The game controller may be sized to be able to rest on a user's lap and to provide bigger control inputs.
