  • Patent number: 8100489
Abstract: A method for double-sided printing may include ejecting printing fluid from a fluid ejector to a platen configured to receive print media, the platen supporting a nonabsorbent substrate. In any sequence, a first print media side and a second print media side may be printed by ejecting printing fluid from the fluid ejector to the first print media side, and contacting the second print media side with the nonabsorbent substrate to transfer printing fluid from the nonabsorbent substrate to the second print media side. A method for double-side printing may further include increasing the contact between the second print media side with the nonabsorbent substrate to increase transfer of printing fluid.

  • Publication number: 20070177511
Abstract: An ad-hoc network includes an ad-hoc network coordinator (NC) having a first processor, a first memory, and a first communication interface; and a plurality of ad-hoc network devices (NDs). Each of the NDs includes a second processor, a second memory, and a second communication interface structured to communicate with the first communication interface of the NC or with the second communication interface of at least another one of the NDs. The first processor cooperates with at least some of the NDs to globally optimize a route based on a plurality of link costs for: (i) pairs of the NDs, or (ii) pairs of the NDs and at least one pair including one of the NDs and the NC, in order to minimize cost along the route that: (a) one of the NDs or the NC employs to send a packet to: (b) another one of the NDs or the NC.

  • Publication number: 20070109731
Abstract: A reduced form factor component support is provided for motor control centers and similar packaged electrical systems. The reduced form factor component support may be used with smaller components, such as small motor starters, motor drives, and so forth. Electrical connections with standard bus bars in the enclosure are made through special connectors mounted on subplates in the rear of the enclosure, or by an invertible stab housing that can allow the reduced form factor component support to share conventional slots in a bus cover, thereby providing access to the supply power in the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20060250980
Abstract: A system for pairing wireless nodes includes a plurality of device nodes, such as lamp nodes, a plurality of sensor nodes, such as light switch nodes, and a context manager node. Each of the device nodes, the sensor nodes and the context manager node includes a first communication channel having radio frequency signals and a diverse second communication channel including wireless non-radio frequency signals. Some of the device nodes and the sensor nodes are adapted to collect context information of a corresponding communication environment and to transfer the collected context information to the context manager node. The context manager node is adapted to employ the collected context information and enable automated distributed pairing of a first node of the device nodes and sensor nodes with another second node of the device nodes and sensor nodes.

  • Publication number: 20060197660
Abstract: A sensor node or a control device node is for a home system including a server and a fob. The node includes a household object, and a sensor, control or display device embedded in or substantially within the household object. The sensor, control or display device includes a first wireless port adapted to wirelessly communicate with the server, a second port adapted to communicate with the fob when the fob is proximate to the second port, and a processor operatively associated with the first wireless port and the second port. The processor is adapted to receive proximity information from the second port and responsively communicate with the server through the first wireless port, in order to configure the sensor, control or display device.

  • Publication number: 20060159260
Abstract: A method encodes and decodes messages between nodes of a wireless communication network. A first node, such as a fob, is mated with a second node, such as a base station, of the wireless communication network. A time duration of the mating is determined in the fob. The time duration of the mating is also determined in the base station. An encryption key is generated based upon the time duration in the fob. The encryption key is also generated based upon the time duration in the base station. Subsequently, communication messages over the wireless communication network are encrypted and decrypted between the fob and the base station employing the encryption key.

  • Publication number: 20060077993
Abstract: A method manages a plurality of communication buffers. The method employs a plurality of communication layers, such as an application layer, a network layer and a MAC layer. A buffer manager is employed for the communication buffers. The buffer manager is independent of the communication layers. The method requests by one of the communication layers one of the communication buffers from the buffer manager. Responsive to the requesting, the method receives at the one of the communication layers an identification of the one of the communication buffers from the buffer manager. One of the communication buffers is employed at the one of the communication layers. The method releases by one of the communication layers the one of the communication buffers to the buffer manager or indicates by one of the communication layers the one of the communication buffers to another one of the communication layers.

  • Publication number: 20060080455
Abstract: A method of network communication includes employing a communication network protocol stack having a plurality of independent communication layers providing a plurality of different corresponding services. A buffer manager is employed for a plurality of communication buffers. The buffer manager is independent of the independent communication layers. An application framework provides asynchronous communications among the buffer manager and the independent communication layers. For a plurality of pairs of the buffer manager and one of the independent communication layers and for a plurality of pairs of the independent communication layers, the method provides subscribing by the buffer manager and by the independent communication layers to a plurality of events through the application framework and publishing by the buffer manager and by the independent communication layers a plurality of corresponding events through the application framework.

  • Publication number: 20060074843
Abstract: The World Wide Web directory for providing live links includes a search function whereby customers can perform a keyword search of database entries to locate websites having a live link. The search results in a listing of websites matching the customer's request, including for each website a URL for the website and its live link. In addition to searching among the database for live links, customers can submit ratings of the websites. The ratings are displayed along with the listing of websites that match a customer's request. Additionally, website or live link owners can register their websites and manage a list of keywords that will be searched by the search function. Sponsored members are members who pay a fee, or place a bid to pay a fee “per hit”, for more prominent ranking among search results. Websites that don't have a live link are given the lowest priority.

  • Publication number: 20060063434
Abstract: A packaged electrical system includes an enclosure and a main interior volume for component supports. The component supports may support electrical, electronic, power electronic and similar components, as well as switchgear and the like. A main power wireway is provided adjacent to the main interior volume of the enclosure for accommodating three phase power conductors. A network and control power wireway is formed separately from the main power wireway. The network and control power wireway may be formed toward the rear of the main interior volume, and may accommodate plug-in connections between component supports and network conductors and control power conductors. The network and control power wireway is thus accessible through a separate door from the main power wireway.
