  • Patent number: 11605866
Abstract: A rotary joint includes a first part and a second part configured to rotate around a rotation axis against the first part. The first part has a first magnetic core, a sliding brush, and a capacitive data link component. The second part has a second magnetic core for coupling power with the first magnetic core, a sliding track for galvanic coupling with the sliding brush, and a second capacitive data link component to transfer data from and/or to the first capacitive data link component. To weaken magnetic stray fields from the magnetic core, the rotary joint is a disc-type rotary joint, and the sliding track is arranged radially between the second magnetic core and the second capacitive data link component.

  • Patent number: 9439625
Abstract: Systems are disclosed for ultrasound beamforming on an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). In certain embodiments, the system includes an ultrasound probe that includes a plurality of transducer elements electrically coupled to an ASIC. The ASIC includes a plurality of waveform generators electrically coupled to a plurality of delay units. Each delay unit receives a waveform from a waveform generator or an adjacent delay unit, applies a delay to the waveform, and outputs the waveform to adjacent delay units, one or more of the plurality of transducer elements, or both. The delays that are provided to waveforms before being output to a transducer element determine the beamforming characteristics of the ultrasonic pulses generated by the ultrasound probe.

  • Publication number: 20110060225
Abstract: Various embodiments of an ultrasound probe for use with an ultrasound system are provided to enable local waveform generation with respect to the ultrasound probe. The ultrasound probe includes a plurality of transducer elements which are independently configured to transmit distinct waveforms. Certain embodiments include a variety of probes that house one or more waveform generators on application specific integrated circuits (ASICs).
