  • Publication number: 20220219239
Abstract: A method for determining alloy processing parameters is provided. Simulated melt pool temperature and melt pool geometries can be used to create an initial printability map based on laser speed and laser power, and the printability map can include regions with potential manufacturing defects. Single-track experiments can be used to calibrate the printability map, to produce a revised printability map. Finally, contour lines representing hatch spacing can also be added to the revised printability map to produce a final printability map that can be used to configure additive manufacturing machinery.

  • Patent number: 11318311
Abstract: Described here is a deep brain stimulation (“DBS”) approach that targets several relevant nodes within brain circuitry, while monitoring multiple symptoms for efficacy. This approach to multi-symptom monitoring and stimulation therapy may be used as an extra stimulation setting in extant DBS devices, particularly those equipped for both stimulation and sensing. The therapeutic efficacy of DBS devices is extended by optimizing them for multiple symptoms (such as sleep disturbance in addition to movement disorders), thus increasing quality of life for patients.

  • Patent number: 11297758
Abstract: An automated leveling system for maintaining a level of a surface, comprising a surface traveling device and a leveling module attached to the surface traveling device. The leveling module comprises a depression detector arm assembly, at least one computing device, and a level-sensing detector. The level-sensing detector senses a level of a surface as the surface traveling device operates across the surface. The level-sensing detector moves across the surface according to the operation of the surface traveling device, and transmits a depression reporting signal to the computing device. The depression reporting signal indicates the presence of a depression in the surface if the level-sensing detector contacts a depression in the surface over a depression threshold.
