  • Publication number: 20230109480
Abstract: A hair styling tool or curling iron includes a handle portion and a styling portion. The handle portion houses a torsion spring. The styling portion includes a hair engaging member adapted to be biased toward the styling portion by the torsion spring. A spring door is releasably and/or removably connected to the handle portion and is configured to cover and at least partially secure the torsion spring within the handle portion. The torsion spring is not mechanically connected to the handle portion so that releasing and/or removing of the spring door from the handle portion allows for removal and replacement of the torsion spring.

  • Publication number: 20220133011
Abstract: A hair appliance includes a handle, an electrical component coupled with the handle, and a switch mechanism in electrical communication with the electrical component and a power source. The electrical component has a plurality of settings. The switch mechanism includes a switch and a rotatable adjustment member. The switch has multiple positions and includes a sliding actuator. Each position corresponds to a respective setting for the electrical component. The rotatable adjustment member includes a contact surface operatively coupled with the sliding actuator such that rotational movement of the rotational adjustment member results in translational movement of the sliding actuator.

  • Patent number: 10856638
Abstract: In one embodiment, hair appliance is provided in which non-heated gas flow is directionally applied automatically to hair after application of a heat treatment. In another embodiment, a compressed gas source is used in conjunction with the hair appliance. The directional application of the non-heated gas is based upon the orientation of the hand held hair appliance. In one embodiment, the directional gas flow of the non-heated air is configured to provide the non-heated gas flow to a user's hair at the location at which the user's hair exits engagement with the hair appliance. In one embodiment a compressed gas source is integrated with a hand held hair appliance. In another embodiment, a hair appliance system is provided in which the compressed gas source is external to a hand held hair appliance.

  • Publication number: 20180140070
Abstract: A hand held hair dryer is provided herein with a split nozzle having a first nozzle arm and a second nozzle arm arranged opposing the first nozzle arm, such that a slot region is formed between the first nozzle arm and the second nozzle arm. The first nozzle arm and the second nozzle arm each include a plurality of air vents, which are configured to direct air flow within the slot region simultaneously from multiple opposing directions. In some embodiments, the hair dryer is further provided with a moveable component, which is selectively configurable to direct the air flow within the slot region simultaneously from multiple opposing directions, or to redirect the air flow in a primarily forward direction out a front end of the split nozzle.

  • Patent number: 9872412
Abstract: A control system for mounting to a rail. The control system includes a control assembly and one or more I/O assemblies. The control assembly and each I/O assembly includes a module removably mounted to a base. The base has a body with a channel formed therein that is adapted to receive the rail. A latching assembly is mounted to the body and includes a lever movable between a latched position and an unlatched position, wherein the movement of the lever between the unlatched and latched positions moves latching members into and out of the channel, whereby when the rail is disposed in the channel and the lever is moved to the latched position, the latching members move into the channel, thereby trapping the rail in the channel and securing the base to the rail. When the module is mounted to the base, the module covers the lever of the latching assembly so as to be inaccessible.
