  • Patent number: 7138145
Abstract: A method for treating grain comprising circulating concentrated ozone through an evenly distributed column of grain to maintain a concentration of between 50 and 100 ppm.

  • Patent number: 4865722
Abstract: A separator suitable for processing agriculture products in a fluidized bed flowing through an inclined trough under the influence of gravity. The fluidization medium is recirculated from the output end of the trough back to the input end thereof using a recirculation drum horizontally disposed laterally encircling the output end of the trough and supported for rotation about its own longitudinal axis. The inner surface of the drum includes an endless series of receiving pockets for collecting sand below the output end of the trough and lifting it thereabove. A damper at the output end of the trough is used to accelerate the establishment of the fluidized bed therein by temporarily obstructing the flow of fluidized bed. An ultrasonic sensor is used to determine the depth of the trough and based thereon to control the rate at which fluidization medium is provided thereto.

  • Patent number: 4627541
Abstract: A roller conveyor for automatically sorting produce or other items according to size which includes an apparatus and method for hydraulically adjusting the space between the rollers to permit optional uniformly graduated increments or fixed spacing between each pair of rollers. Each roller of the conveyor is slidably mounted at opposite ends of the roller to a frame. The ends of each roller are supported in a bearing block and each adjacent pair of rollers is interconnected at the ends of the roller by a slidable connecting rod attached between the bearing blocks of the adjacent rollers.

  • Patent number: 4164294
Abstract: A method of placing bulk potatoes in a storage facility, the method comprising a powered potato conveyor external to the storage facility upon which a stream of potatoes is deposited. Thereafter the stream of potatoes is deposited upon at least one potato conveyor belt located in the upper portion of the storage facility and extending the full axial length thereof. Potatoes are shaken by vibration of the external conveyor to remove dirt and other tare, and a picking station is provided exterior to the facility wherein remaining foreign objects are removed manually prior to storage, tare conveyor belts being provided to collect and displace the dirt and foreign objects to tare trucks for disposal. Inside the storage enclosure, the potatoes are moved gently from one or more main storage conveyors by a rotating brush onto one or more cross conveyor belts selectively settable at any point along the entire length of the main storage conveyor, and are evenly distributed across the enlarging potato pile below.

  • Patent number: 3993140
Abstract: An improved blade assembly for moving beneath the surface of the ground to engage and lift a subsurface root crop upwardly and rearwardly when moved along a forward path by a harvesting implement. The assembly includes an elongated blade that is held transverse to the forward direction of harvester travel. The blade is mounted to a framework for oscillational movement about a first horizontal axis and a second axis perpendicular to the horizontal axis. A power source operates the blade to oscillate about these axes in continuous cycles. Each cycle of blade movement includes a forward and downward stroke and an upward and rearward stroke. This movement occurs rearward of and below the horizontal pivot axis for the blade.
