Publication number: 20130205729Abstract: It is a lead acid battery vent cap device, herein called “Acid Stripper”, to be used in the formation process of battery manufacturing. During the process, the batteries generate acid mist which vents out from battery. The acid mist is an undesirable condition. The “Acid Stripper” removes the liquid part and drops it back into the battery. It consists of a battery cap with gasket on which is molded and or or attached a static mixing tube. The static mixing tube contains a set of double helixes insert which substantially prevent acid from escaping to the outside of the battery during the formation process. The prevention of the acid escape eliminates the damage to the floor, the environment, the equipment and the people breathing the air. The additional benefits are, no acid loss, less topping off after formation, and prevention of explosions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2012Publication date: August 15, 2013Inventors: Nawaz M. Qureshi, Edward Schwarz
