    Abstract: A laminated shadow mask assembly for use in a color picture tube including an evacuated envelope having a longitudinal axis and also having a phosphor deposited screen lying generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, which assembly comprises a finely perforated, laminated shadow mask having a plurality of apertures defined therein in a predetermined pattern; a support frame for the support of the laminated shadow mask; and expansion compensating couplings disposed around the support frame for connecting the support frame in position within the evacuated envelope with the laminated shadow mask held generally parallel to the phosphor deposited screen.
