  • Patent number: 8175791
Abstract: A method of managing the degraded modes of a system for the automatic starting/stopping of a heat engine of a vehicle, whereby the system receives information supplied by measurement and detection sensors and by a bus for the communication of vehicle operating data. The method comprises the following steps consisting in verifying the presence and validity of the information supplied by the sensors and, in the event of a negative result, defining a first degraded mode in which any stopping phase of the automatic start/stop mode is forbidden until an end-of-restriction condition has been fulfilled, and, in the even of a positive result, testing the communication with the data communication bus and, in the event of a negative result, defining a second degraded mode in which the automatic start/stop mode is inhibited until an end-of-inhibition condition has been fulfilled.

  • Publication number: 20110232597
Abstract: A method and a device (5) for controlling an engine stop/restart system (1) to be mounted on an automobile. The device (5) includes a control module (6) that obtains at least one parameter (Tbat, Ubat, Ibat) representative of the state of an energy storage unit (8), determines information on the energetic state of the energy storage unit (8) from said at least one obtained parameter (Tbat, Ubat, Ibat), and controls the engine stop/restart system (1) based on the determined energetic state information. The energetic state information is set at a predetermined value when the method controls a stop authorization of the engine stop/restart system (1).

  • Publication number: 20100298088
Abstract: The micro-hybrid system for a transport vehicle comprises a rotary electric machine (10) suitable for being coupled mechanically to an engine (5) of the vehicle, an AC-to-DC converter (11), a DC-to-DC converter (13), first (12) and second (2) electrical energy reservoirs suitable for storing an electrical energy produced by the rotary machine and for restoring the latter for consumer devices equipping the vehicle, and control means (14) for controlling the operation of the micro-hybrid system. In accordance with the invention, the control means (14) comprise piloting means (140) suitable for autonomously piloting the operating modes of the micro-hybrid system according to a plurality of strategies according to at least their own knowledge of an internal state of the micro-hybrid system and of a state of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7744501
Abstract: A stop control method which is intended for a heat engine of a vehicle that is equipped with a reversible electric machine. According to the invention, a decision is made to stop the heat engine as a function of: (i) steady conditions which are essentially stable prior to a stopping phase; and (ii) variable conditions which can change following a positive test on the steady conditions and prior to a stopping phase, said steady conditions being tested prior to the variable conditions. The invention is suitable for motor vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20080172170
Abstract: A method of controlling a rotating electrical machine for a motor vehicle, whereby the machine is intended to operate in starter mode in order to start a heat engine of the vehicle. The inventive method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps consisting in: testing conditions known as the safe conditions before and during any start-up phase, and testing conditions known as the pre-start-up conditions before the start-up phase. According to the invention, in the event of a negative safe conditions test, the execution of the start-up phase is blocked or interrupted at any moment, while, in the event of a negative pre-start-up conditions test, the execution of the start-up phase is blocked. The invention is suitable for the alternator-starter of a motor vehicle.
