  • Publication number: 20110232690
Abstract: A device is disclosed for batch-wise pre-rinsing of dishes prior to washing. In at least one embodiment, the device includes a sprayer for spraying a rinsing liquid, the sprayer being arranged in a rinsing chamber, which is adapted to receive and enclose a batch of dishes, the rinsing chamber being adapted to be opened after the dishes have been rinsed for removal of the pre-rinsed dishes.

  • Patent number: 5639632
Abstract: Device and method for quantitative determination of the interacting effects of two or more substances on the promotion or inhibition of growth of microorganisms or other biological cells grown on a solid medium, wherein the substances are applied within a quadrate test area in the solid medium in predefined concentration patterns having concentration perimeters exhibiting maxima and minima at opposite edges of the test area and with the concentration gradient directions of the substances perpendicular to each other.

  • Patent number: 4854627
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for applying an object (5) such as an antibiotic patch onto a receiving surface (1) such as the surface of a culture. The object (5) is placed on a support (3) provided with holes (4) through which the objects are to be passed down to be applied to the receiving surface (1). According to the invention the objects (5) are retained by an applying means (6, 7) by means of a negative pressure during the transfer of the objects from the support (3) to the receiving surface (1), the applying means (6, 7) also generating the negative pressure during the transfer. (FIG. 1 is published).

  • Patent number: 4778758
Abstract: A device for susceptibility testing of microorganisms comprising a transparent, sealable container (1), a rectangular carrier (3) coated with a growth medium, a sealing arrangment (2) for sealing the container (1), and a rectangular, transparent, non-porous, inert test strip (4) optionally provided with a grip. Two antimicrobial substances separated by a substance-free zone are applied on one side of the strip in concentration gradients exhibiting maxima and minima. On the other side of the test strip is a scale for direct reading of the susceptibility the above-mentioned concentration gradient(s) being pre-defined and adapted to the reading scale.

  • Patent number: 4643795
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and device for applying an object (11), e.g. an antibiotic patch onto a receiving adhesive surface (19), e.g. an agar surface. The objects (11) are piled in a storage container (10), which is upwardly open, and the receiving surface (19) located above this is turned downwards. For application of the object (11) onto the surface (19) the whole pile is lifted towards the surface while the storage container (10) is not moved so that the uppermost object in the pile is pressed against and adheres to the receiving surface (19), after which the pile is lowered again.

  • Patent number: 4286730
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for applying objects such as antibiotic disc to a surface (2), e.g. the surface of a culture medium, by impaling them on an axially movable needle (3), which applies the object to the surface, after which a member (4) presses the object against the surface. The needle and the member are thereafter returned to the relative starting position. Moreover, the invention concerns a device for applying objects (1), such as an antibiotic disc to a surface (2), such as the surface of a culture medium, which device comprises at least one axially movable needle (3), a feeding surface (5), at least one hole (6) located in the feeding direction and at least one member (4) arranged so that it can press the object against the surface (2).
