  • Publication number: 20230310937
Abstract: A monitoring arrangement for an exercise device generates data items representing exercise activity by a user, performs a connection process for establishment of an end-to-end connection to a user device, broadcasts progress data that represents data items generated during the connection process, and sequentially transmits, on the end-to-end connection data items, generated after establishment of the end-to-end connection. The user device receives the progress data and presents, during the connection process, progress of the exercise activity based on the progress data. After establishment of the end-to-end connection, the user device presents progress of the exercise activity based on data items received on the end-to-end connection. The combination of broadcasting and sequential transmission obviates the need for the user to wait for the end-to-end connection before starting exercise activity.

  • Patent number: 11745042
Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to devices, systems and methods for measuring, transmitting, recording and displaying information relating to physical exercise and, more particularly, to a monitoring system for monitoring exercise machines comprising a lifting mechanism for selectively engaging one or more of the weights. A first aspect of the disclosure relates to an exercise machine monitoring system for monitoring exercise machines, where the exercise machines, comprise a plurality of stacked weights, the monitoring system comprises, for each of the exercise machines a repetition detector and an exercise machine identifier. The monitoring system further comprises an observer and a user device.

  • Publication number: 20220014892
Abstract: An electronic tag, which may be used in a data management system, comprises a Bluetooth transmitter and an RFID transmitter. The Bluetooth transmitter is operable to transmit first data packets. The RFID transmitter is operable to transmit second data packets. The first data packets comprise a first identifier, ID1, and the second data packets comprise a second identifier, ID2, which is different from ID1. A portable electronic device is configured to, upon receiving one of the first data packets by a Bluetooth receiver, selectively activate an RFID receiver for the second data packets, thereby enabling transfer of ID2 from the electronic tag irrespective of the data transfer capacity of the first data packets.

  • Patent number: 10740321
Abstract: A method for generating a profile for a user based on the user's behaviour and altering a setup of at least one computer program based on the generated user profile. The generic user profile for a user may be updated to include information from a similar user (e.g., a user having similar preferences). Using information from similar users allows for a generic user profile to be generated using information extracted from applications (e.g., both social media and games) and/or based on the behaviour of connections (e.g., social media contact, etc.). The generated generic user profile may be used to change the set-up for applications (e.g., executed/stored on the user's mobile device).
