  • Patent number: 7784380
Abstract: The invention concerns a drive spindle (1) for the main drive of a rolling stand, which has: a first shaft (3) for transmitting torque from a drive motor (2) to a coupling element, especially to a multiple spline profile, and a second shaft (5) for transmitting the torque from the coupling element, especially the multiple spline profile, via a swivel joint (4) to a roll (6) of the rolling stand, wherein the swivel joint (4) has a wobbler (7), which is rotationally rigidly connected with the roll (6), and a second spindle head (8), which is rotationally rigidly connected with the second shaft (5), and wherein the rotational connection between the wobbler (7) and the spindle head (8) is produced by sliding bearings and a journal (9), which is rotationally rigidly connected with the spindle head (8) but is supported in a way that allows an angle of inclination (?) between the axis of rotation (10) of the roll (6) and the axis of rotation (11) of the second shaft (5).

  • Patent number: 7582019
Abstract: An overload safety coupling, especially for the main drivetrains on rolling stands, which bridges a toothed spindle section and a spindle section with a permanent seat. The coupling includes a rotating-and-sliding sleeve, which has internal toothing at one end to hold the spindle section in a way that allows axial displacement. At the other end, the sleeve holds an inner sleeve, which is permanently seated on the spindle section. A pressure sleeve and a pressure gap pretensioned with pressure fluid produce a nonrotatable connection between the rear sleeve-like extension and the inner sleeve, which frictional connection gives way in the event of an overload.

  • Publication number: 20070140781
Abstract: The invention relates to an overload security coupling, in particular for main drivetrains on rolling stands, forming a bridge between a toothed spindle section (1) and a spindle section (6), with an interference fit. According to the invention, the security coupling for axial overload may be combined with a rotational fixing against torsional overload, whereby the same is embodied with a rotating sliding sleeve (3), housing the spindle section (1) with internal toothing in an axially-displaceable manner at one end and enclosing the spindle section (6) with an inner sleeve (4) in the interference fit at the other end and the rear sleeve-like projection (13) thereof generates a fixed functional connection which gives way in case of overload with a pressure sleeve (5) and a pressure gap (14), tensioned by pressure medium.
