Abstract: Stereo photographs and panoramic photographs can be taken separately without enabling cameras to rotate relative to a casing in which the cameras are placed. A camera device capable of selectively photographing panoramic images and stereo images includes a casing (1D) fixed with a photographic lens (11D), and a casing (1U) that is fixed with a photographic lens (11U) and that moves relative to the casing (1D) while facing the casing (1D); wherein in cases in which the photographic lenses (11D) and (11U) are disposed in open, mutually spaced apart positions by relative movement of the case (1U), the optical axes of the photographic lenses (11D) and (11U) are placed in positions capable of photographing stereo images; and in cases in which the photographic lenses (11D) and (11U) are disposed in closed, mutually proximal positions by relative movement of the case (1U), the optical axes of the photographic lenses (11D) and (11U) are placed in positions capable of photographing panoramic images.

Abstract: Optical communication apparatuses capable of performing appropriate communication according to a distance to a receiving apparatus, optical communication methods, and an optical communication system are provided. A transmitting apparatus transmits an optical signal corresponding to data. The transmitting apparatus modulates intensity of the optical signal into intensity corresponding to a distance over which the data is to be delivered and outputs this intensity-modulated optical signal. This allows the transmitting apparatus to change the intensity of the optical signal corresponding to the data according to a distance to a receiving apparatus that receives the data, which thus allows the receiving apparatus to surely receive the data.

Abstract: A mobile camera system is provided in which a user can view images of various desired locations while staying in a location remote from those locations. A control server acquires positions of a plurality of mobile camera apparatuses set up on mobile bodies such as vehicles, and images that are acquired by the mobile camera apparatuses, via radio communication. Then, the control server manages the positions and the images in its image DB. Then, in response to an imaging request that is issued from a terminal apparatus to designate a location (area), the control server searches for the image satisfying the request, in the image DB, or newly acquires the image satisfying the request, from the mobile camera apparatus. Then, the control server transmits the image to the terminal apparatus via radio communication.
