  • Patent number: 6237357
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a vehicular air conditioner using a heat pump that can improve heating ability by effective utilization of engine waste heat during a heating operation. The apparatus of the invention is a vehicular air conditioner using a heat pump with a compressor unit 20 equipped with a compressor 31, a throttling resistance 34 and a four way valve 33, connected by a refrigerant path 30 to an indoor heat exchanger 25 for effecting heat exchange between a refrigerant and vehicle cabin air, and an outdoor heat exchanger 21 installed in an engine compartment for effecting heat exchange between a refrigerant and outside air, and equipped with fan 22 for drawing in outside air, and which executes a cooling operation and a heating operation by switching a direction of flow of the refrigerant.

  • Patent number: 6233957
Abstract: A vehicular air conditioner which is not influenced by fluctuations in engine RPM and which provides air conditioning with low energy consumption includes a variable demand capacity compressor where the suction pressure is self-controlled and can be set using an external signal. The vehicular air conditioner includes a demand capacity change compressor which self-controls at a target suction pressure set using an external signal and based on a discharge temperature set according to an air conditioning load. The external signal sets the target suction pressure to thereby affect a refrigerating cycle operation.

  • Patent number: 5435707
Abstract: A scroll-type compressor having a fixed scroll and a revolving scroll, wherein a portion of either the end plate of the fixed scroll or the top plate above the fixed scroll has annular grooves formed therein, allowing elastic deformation of either the end plate or the top plate in a thrust direction, thus preventing gaps between the spiral wraps of both scrolls.

  • Patent number: 5370512
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scroll type compressor. The compression gas in a discharge chamber is made to flow into a backside small sealed chamber through a leak passage provided before the position on the revolution angle of the revolving scroll, whereat the back side of a volute wrap of the revolving scroll starts to cross a discharge opening and at the same time a pair of small sealed chambers begin to communicate with the discharge chamber.

  • Patent number: 5316454
Abstract: An inexpensive, efficient pump which can supply lubricating oil uses the revolving motion of an orbiting scroll 2. The pump is so constructed that a piston supported by a fixing member 1 is fitted in a cylinder chamber 102 formed in the inner surface of the end plate 21 of an orbiting scroll 2 which revolves while sliding on the fixing member, by which a pump chamber 104 is defined between them. The piston 101 is extended or retracted depending on the revolving motion of orbiting scroll 2, the volume of the pump chamber 104 is increased or decreased, and a fluid suction port 105 and a fluid discharge port 106 are connected to the pump chamber 104 at predetermined time intervals to supply the fluid.

  • Patent number: 4884956
Abstract: A rotary compressor includes a top clearance volume formed between a cylinder chamber and at least one delivery valve. Another top clearance volume, in communication with the cylinder chamber, produces a reverse flow of compressed fluid which generates pulsations adapted to offset a high frequency component of pulsations generated in the cylinder chamber by compressed fluid reversely flowing from the first top clearance volume to the cylinder chamber. Thereby the high frequency component of pulsations generated in the cylinder chamber is eliminated, and a low-noise rotary compressor is provided.
