  • Patent number: 7137706
Abstract: With a trend toward a higher intensity projection type liquid crystal display device to further increase brightness of a projection screen, rated input power of a light source lamp increases, which makes essential a fan apparatus for cooling the light source lamp, etc. Such a fan apparatus would require a light-shielding member which causes the number of parts to increase. The present invention provides a fan apparatus provided with a rotor section that can be rotated/driven around a predetermined rotation axis and a propeller section including propeller blades and attached to the rotor section arranged in such a way as to substantially shield light parallel to the rotation axis.

  • Patent number: 6283614
Abstract: In a liquid crystal projection apparatus having a plurality of lamps, and a plurality of cooling means for cooling the plurality of lamps individually, the lamp includes the following: a cup-shaped reflecting mirror 41 having an air discharge hole 41A, an insulator 50 having an air suction hole 50A, a front glass 42, a light emitting tube 40, and air passages (a) to (c) in the lamp for cooling the light emitting tube. The cooling means 12 sucks in hot air from the lamp, and exhausts the hot air toward the louver of the case. Thus, the lamps and the liquid crystal projection apparatus are cooled effectively.

  • Patent number: 5993008
Abstract: A front liquid crystal display projector includes a housing having an exhaust port and a projection opening, an optical block, installed in the housing, having a light source, a reflection mirror, a light separator, an image display unit using liquid crystal, an image combining unit, a projection lens, and an exhaust fan installed between the light source and the exhaust port. The reflection mirror changes the direction of the light from the light source, and the projection lens and the light source are disposed parallel to each other. The exhaust port and the projection opening are provided at a first side of the housing. An image formed by the optical block is projected from the first side and from the projection opening, and air in the housing is discharged from the exhaust port and also from the first side. In addition, the exhaust port prevents stray light from the light source, which exits the exhaust port, from overlapping the image projected from the projection opening.

  • Patent number: 5444306
Abstract: The radio telephone apparatus which is mounted on a car is disclosed. An operational state of the apparatus is memorized therein as a power flag. On the basis of the power flag, the apparatus may be recovered to an operational state at a time when an ignition switch of the car is turned off. More specifically, the power flag may be referred every time a position of the ignition switch is changed from OFF position to ON position. At the event, if the flag indicates that the apparatus was in an operative state at a time when the ignition switch of the car is turned off, the power supply to the apparatus is resumed in response to the position change of the ignition switch. Contrarily, if the flag indicates that the apparatus was not in an operative state, the power supply to the apparatus is not initiated even if the position of the ignition switch is changed.

  • Patent number: 5384834
Abstract: A telecommunication apparatus adapted to be used with a detachable memory device is disclosed. The detachable memory device such as an IC card are capable of storing information relating to a particular user. When the detachable memory device is connected to the apparatus, the apparatus retrieves information relating to the particular user out of the detachable memory device. Thereafter, the apparatus may perform one or more of functions on the basis of the retrieved information. When the detachable memory device is connected to the telecommunication apparatus, the apparatus detects the presence of identification information stored in the detachable memory device. In the event that the identification information is not detected, the apparatus provides an indication to a user so as to request the user to enter an identification information.

  • Patent number: 5054053
Abstract: A speech recognition system that detects a similarity between each speech pattern which has already been registered in the system and a speech pattern newly generated in response to the user's utterance made while the system is in a registration mode. The system further provides to the user in the registration mode information representing the detected similarity. The speech recognition system may be incorporated into a telephone apparatus or a radio telephone apparatus, in which a call origination may be automatically made in response to the user's utterance.

  • Patent number: 5042063
Abstract: Telephone apparatus in which a call may be made in response to utterances of a user by speech recognition without manually dialing a telephone number. The telephone apparatus includes a storage device for storing a set of parameters corresponding to an expected speech signal, which are used for recognizing the user's subsequent utterance and/or for indicating differences between the utterance and the stored signal. The telephone apparatus further includes a storage device for storing the speech signal so that the stored speech signal can be reproduced. The reproduced speech signal is used to confirm the stored speech signal. The stored speech signal may be reproduced in response to a user's key operation when the telephone apparatus is in a confirmation mode and in response to a user's utterance when the telephone apparatus is in a registration or voice calling mode.
