  • Patent number: 7219393
Abstract: A hinge supporting first and second portions such that they are open and closed relative to each other, including a rotation shaft fixed to the second portion and supported by the first portion so as to be rotatable around a rotation axis thereof relative to the first portion, first and second parts into which the rotation shaft is inserted, and an energizer for pushing the movable part towards the fixed part. The first part is fixed to the first portion so as to be rotatable around the rotation axis relative to the first part. The second part is axially movable relative to the rotation shaft and not rotatable around a rotation axis thereof, and rotates together with the rotation shaft. Each of the first and second parts has a projection projecting towards each other. The projections overlap each other axially of the rotation shaft when the first and second portions are open each other at a certain angle in the range of predetermined angles.

  • Publication number: 20030140457
Abstract: A turning structure according to the present invention is used in note-size personal computers having a computer body 2 as a base member and a top cover 3. The turning structure is made up of a first hinge 21 and a second hinge 22. The first hinge 21 is provided with a friction member 24 to provide frictional resistance to the top cover 3 against its turn relative to the computer body 2. The second hinge 22 is provided with a torsion coil spring 73 to urge the top cover 3 relative to the computer body 2 so as to counter the rotation moment acting on the top cover 3 by its own weight when the top cover 3 turns relative to the computer body 2.

  • Publication number: 20020112319
Abstract: In the present invention, the transverse cross-section shape of a lubricant oil groove of a frictional resin body is formed to have a V shape where a lubricant oil is pooled and an oil film necessary to the smooth rotation of a rotation metal shaft is readily and positively formed and it is possible to prevent a breakage of the frictional resin body.

  • Patent number: 4406176
Abstract: In a rack and pinion type steering system with an energy absorbing mechanism, errors in axial dimensions of the steering shaft and column tube often make it difficult to fix the two parts to each other at two predetermined axially spaced positions. Such difficulty is eliminated by providing an elongated slot of a predetermined axial length in the column tube to allow a holding member to extend radially through the slot irrespective of the dimensional errors to fixedly connected the column tube to the steering shaft. In addition, a support member which is mounted on the steering shaft for assembling a bearing thereon is constituted by a single structure to preclude disconnection or disintegration of component parts caused by the thrust acting thereon and provided with claw portions or caulking wall portions for holding the bearing securely in position.
