  • Patent number: 5165505
Abstract: The elevator landing door apparatus is provided with a door for opening and closing the doorway at an elevator landing zone, a rail for guiding the rollers of a hanger plate installed in an upright position in the upper part of the door just defined, and a sill for guiding a door shoe set in the lower part of the door laid out in the lower part of the doorway defined above. The elevator landing door apparatus is characterized in that a plate is set up in an upright position on the upper frame of three-side frames in the doorway defined above and a closure plate is set up in the upper part of the door defined above and forms an overlapping construction together with the plate when the door is shut. This closure plate is fitted out with an expansive material which expands by the effect of heat and thereby the clearance between the plate and the closure plate.

  • Patent number: 5156237
Abstract: An apparatus operable on each elevator platform for opening or closing doors wherein the apparatus includes a pair of doors for opening or closing an inlet/outlet on the elevator platform, a rail for guiding the rolling movement of rollers carried by a hanger plate standing upright on the upper surface of each door and a door-sill arranged below said inlet/outlet for guiding the slidable movement of a door shoe at the lower end of each door. Each door is essentially composed of a door main body having a vertically extending reinforcement member for supporting the dead weight of each door and a thermal insulating panel fixedly secured to the door main body on the elevator platform side, the thermally insulating panel being filled with a thermal insulating material, and a decorative plate is adhesively secured to the front surface of the thermal insulating panel on the elevator platform side.

  • Patent number: 4775043
Abstract: A segment step is provided for a curved escalator having a plurality of segment steps connected to an endless loop of step chains having curved cleats so related in curvature that the steps circulating along the endless loop mesh properly and smoothly. Each step comprises a tread slate having formed therein a plurality of arcuate horizontal cleats and an arcuate vertical riser plate connected to the tread plate and having formed therein a plurality of vertical cleats curved similar to the riser plate. The radii of curvature of the vertical cleats and the radii of curvature of the horizontal cleats increase in the direction away from the center of curvature of the escalator according to an arithmetic progression.

  • Patent number: 4746000
Abstract: A curved escalator includes guide tracks for defining a stairway path which includes a constant slope intermediate section, horizontal landing sections, and transient sections smoothly connecting the intermediate section and the landing sections. Each section of differing slope has a differing radius of curvature which when viewed in plan, is inversely proportional to the slope angle, thereby eliminating the need for drive chains to change the distance between the step axles. Turn-around mechanisms that are compact and simple in structure are also disclosed.
