  • Publication number: 20120221185
Abstract: A vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, a rotary electric machine that generates driving force for the vehicle, and a control unit that controls the internal combustion engine on the basis of a state of the vehicle. When the internal combustion engine is started in response to a request for the driving force, the control unit controls the internal combustion engine such that ignition timing of the internal combustion engine while a first mode is selected is later than the ignition timing while a second mode is selected. The vehicle is more likely to be driven using the rotary electric machine in a state where the internal combustion engine is stopped in the first mode than in the second mode.

  • Publication number: 20120150374
Abstract: An ECU that controls a plug-in hybrid vehicle starts an engine when a required power as a value obtained by subtracting a required discharge amount from a drive power is larger than a threshold during intermittent control in a CD mode, and stops the engine when the required power is smaller than a threshold. When intermittent control is being performed in the CD mode, the ECU limits the required discharge amount Pout to a relatively small value in a range where an engine coolant temperature is low, and sets the required discharge amount relatively large instead of imposing a limit thereon in a range where the engine coolant temperature is high.

  • Patent number: 7958858
Abstract: A variable valve timing system changes a valve phase by reducing an operation amount of an actuator at a speed reduction ratio that varies depending on a phase region. When the valve phase is outside a region in which the ratio of the amount of change in the phase with respect to the operation amount of the actuator is low, namely a high speed reduction ratio, the actuator may be operated due to, for example, a reaction force applied to a camshaft, and an undesirable valve phase change may result. Accordingly, when an engine stop command is possibly issued, the target phase value is restricted to a region more delayed than a phase restriction value set in consideration of the amount by which the valve timing can be changed from when an engine stop command is issued until when the engine is stopped.

  • Publication number: 20090292449
Abstract: In a power output apparatus, when the fuel vapor concentration is high and the target purge rate is high, an operating point on a purge priority operating line is selected as a target operating point of an engine. As a result, the intake manifold negative pressure greater than that when an operating point on an optimum fuel efficiency operating line is selected, so that the flow rate of purge gas released from a canister is increased. When the fuel vapor concentration does not fall within a high-concentration range, the necessity to immediately purge fuel vapor trapped in the canister into the intake pipe is low, and thus an operating point on the optimum fuel efficiency operating line is selected to keep the engine operating at high fuel efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20090283075
Abstract: In performing purge control, an engine ECU 24 of a hybrid vehicle derives a purge air amount ga and a purge fuel amount tau on the basis of intake pipe pressure PM from an intake pipe pressure sensor 112 when the intake pipe pressure sensor 112 is functioning normally, and derives the purge air amount ga and the purge fuel amount tau on the basis of a load factor L derived from an intake air flow G obtained from an air flow meter 108 when the intake pipe pressure sensor 112 is not functioning normally, though the purge air amount ga and the purge fuel amount tau tend to have slightly larger errors than in the case of using the intake pipe pressure PM from the intake pipe pressure sensor 112 functioning normally. Thus, even when the intake pipe pressure sensor 112 is not functioning normally, a deviation of an air/fuel ratio caused by the purge control can be appropriately eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7549218
Abstract: The invention is a continuous finishing apparatus for a slide fastener having a slider introduction portion for successively introducing a slider by intermittently running a slide fastener chain, wherein, a slider introduction member thrusts into the space portion when the slider held by a slider holding member is brought into a space portion and set therein, moves downstream of the slide fastener chain within the space portion, holds an engaging element disposed at a downstream end portion of the space portion, and then, continues to move to the downstream for carrying the slide fastener chain, and wherein the slider is introduced and set along the same chain upon this carriage. Because the slider introduction member carries the slide fastener by holding the engaging elements on an edge of the fastener tape, which is least elongated, no disagreement occurs in position of corresponding right and left engaging elements.
