  • Patent number: 9403116
Abstract: A regenerative scrubber system is provided for removing a selected gas from an atmosphere within a closed environment. The scrubber system includes a scrubber module having a first scrubber and a second scrubber, each housing a porous mass of regenerative adsorbent material for adsorbing the selected gas, a first flow diversion device disposed upstream of the scrubber module with respect to the gaseous flow from the closed environment, a second flow diversion device disposed downstream of the scrubber with respect to the gaseous flow from the closed environment, and a single actuator operatively associated with each of the first flow diversion device and the second flow diversion device.

  • Patent number: 9341408
Abstract: A regenerative carbon dioxide removal system (38) is provided onboard the container (10) through which air from within the cargo box (12) may be circulated for removing at least a portion of the carbon dioxide present in the air. The regenerative carbon dioxide removal system (38) includes a scrubber module (40) containing a carbon dioxide absorbent material (42), and an actuator (50) for moving the scrubber module (40) to pass the carbon dioxide absorbent material (42) alternately between a first flow of air (32) to be cleaned drawn by the evaporator fan (30) from within the cargo box (12), and a second flow of air (44) drawn from an environment outside the cargo box for regenerating the carbon dioxide adsorbent material (42) by removing collected carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide adsorbent material (42).

  • Patent number: 7089751
Abstract: A system and method for automatically providing a fresh air exchange to a cargo unit is disclosed. The system includes a single gas sensor, preferably a carbon dioxide sensor, for providing an input to a controller which derives the carbon dioxide and oxygen levels in the unit. The controller then compares such derived values to preselected levels and selectively opens or closes air flow into the cargo unit in order to bring and maintain the desired oxygen and carbon dioxide levels within the unit.
