  • Patent number: 7445840
Abstract: The present invention provides a synthetic wood including a body containing a polystyrene- or polypropylene-based resin as the major component and a weather-resistant outer layer with excellent adhesion to the body. A synthetic wood 1A includes a body 2 defining a core thereof and formed of a polystyrene or polypropylene foam and an outer layer 3 covering the body and formed of a weather-resistant synthetic resin that is unfoamed or foamed at a low expansion rate. The body and the outer layer are integrally bonded by coextrusion. The body contains a polystyrene- or polypropylene-based resin as the major component. The outer layer contains an acrylonitrile-acrylic rubber-styrene copolymer and/or an acrylonitrile-ethylene propylene rubber-styrene copolymer, which are weather-resistant resins, as the major component.

  • Patent number: 6427405
Abstract: A joint member is provided that can be easily installed, without sacrificing an appearance, in a joint groove required to secure water-tightness between adjoining wall surface facing members of a building. A joint base member 6 is integrally and consecutively installed on a surface of a synthetic resin joiner 4 positioned and provided between wall surface facing members A. The joint base member 6 has right and left side plates 12, two soft sealing tongue flaps 14a and 14b which are protuberantly provided on the outer side surfaces of the side plates and the distal ends of which come in contact with end surfaces of the wall surface facing members, and numerous apertures 16 drilled between the sealing tongue flaps, a sealant 8 being charged in a gap between the side plates.

  • Patent number: 6102407
Abstract: A joint seal is designed to maintain its proper position in the joint groove opening port to create an effective seal between the inner walls of the joint groove and to resist peeling or damage, even in an event, such as an earthquake, during which the adjacent outer wall materials shift; and to have a joint base material 2, a sealing material 3 and a heart wood 8. The joint base material 2 has at least two seal tongue pieces 14a and 14b projecting from the outer face of side plates 5, 5. A number of small openings 8 to allow sealing material to be pressed out at the insertion of heart wood 8 is punched between the seal tongue pieces 14a and 14b, and release mold sheets 18a and 18b are attached to joint base material 2 as a cap member covering the small openings 8 and the opening ports of side plates 5, 5.

  • Patent number: 5377737
Abstract: A base end of the foldably stretchable accordion screen 10 is fixed to an inner portion of the receptacle box frame 13 which constitutes one of the side frame members of a screen support frame structure, and the movable frame is attached to the fore end of the screen slidably along the screen support frame for opening and closing the screen toward and away from the receptacle frame. Fixed to the movable frame 18 are the ends of a plural number of tension cords 20a to 20d which are folded around turn-guide members 21b to 21d and 22 on the side frame member. A pendant weight 24 is attached to the other ends of the tension cords which are hung down in the side frame member, thereby to apply to the movable frame a biasing force in the screen opening direction. The pendant weight 24 is associated width a resistant mechanism 26 which serves to buffer the descending motion of the pendant weight as it reaches its lower stop position.
