    Abstract: An ultrasonic welding diagnostic method includes: applying a pressing force to an object to be joined so as to generate a surface pressure on a joint surface of the object to be joined; inputting ultrasonic waves to the joint surface; detecting an elastic wave propagating through the object to be joined by at least one sensor at a plurality of different positions; analyzing a signal detected by the sensor to generate an envelope of the signal and calculating information about the envelope; and determining a joint state on the joint surface based on the calculation result of the information.

    Abstract: An apparatus for spraying pseudo hair increasing material including a first container 3 for storing therein pseudo hair increasing material 2, and a second container 4 detachably coupled to the first container 3 through a coupler 30, the second container 4 being provided therein with an injection mechanism 9 for injecting the propellant gas into the first container 3 through an injection nozzle 5, the first container 3 being formed with a discharge port 31 for discharging the pseudo hair increasing material therethrough, the discharge port 31 having an axis in alignment with that of the injection nozzle 5, a bore of the discharge port 31 being larger than that of an injection port 50 formed on a distal end of the injection nozzle 5, through operation of the injection mechanism 9, the propellant gas from the injection nozzle 5 being injected to thereby cause the pseudo hair increasing material to be discharged from the discharge port 31 towards a predetermined area.

    Abstract: A volume-reducing solidification treatment method for radioactive waste liquid containing boron primarily in the form of boric acid or borates is disclosed.After an alkali is added to the waste water to adjust pH thereof, and optionally after evaporation concentration is carried out, soluble calcium compounds such as Ca(OH).sub.2 are added, the waste water is stirred at a specific temperature to form insoluble calcium borate aged at a lower temperature than that of forming borate, and evaporation and concentration is carried out, which raises the concentration of the solid component. The concentrated liquid obtained is solidified with cement.The concentrated liquid may also be dried into a powder using a thin film evaporator.
