  • Publication number: 20100197853
Abstract: An aqueous synthetic resin emulsion comprises a synthetic resin comprising a copolymer of at least one monomer (A) selected from an acrylic monomer and a styrene monomer, and at least one functional group-containing monomer (B) selected from the group consisting of: (B1) a glycidyl-containing monomer; (B2) an allyl-containing monomer; (B3) a hydrolyzable silyl-containing monomer; (B4) an acetoacetyl-containing monomer; (B5) a monomer having at least two vinyl groups in a molecular structure thereof; and (B6) a hydroxyl-containing monomer, the synthetic resin being stably dispersed in the emulsion in the presence of a polyvinyl alcohol resin [I] having an average saponification degree of not less than 85 mol % and an average polymerization degree of 50 to 3000 and having 1 to 15 mol % 1,2-diol bonds on its side chains. The aqueous synthetic resin emulsion may be used for a cement mortar admixture, yielding a mortar excellent in fluidity and workability.

  • Patent number: 4966634
Abstract: A treating composition for metallic surfaces is characterized by containing hexavalent chromium ions or hexavalent and trivalent chromium ions as inorganic compound, and acrylic-series polymer emulsion obtained by emulsion-polymerizing, by means of a nonionic emulsifying agent which is essentially free of anionic emulsifying agent and cationic emulsifying agent and which contains a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block polymer, and having a pH of 5 or less.
