  • Publication number: 20120272529
Abstract: A knife comprising a housing and a rotating blade carriage pivotably associated with the housing. The knife further includes a compartment in which a plurality of blades can be stored and later advanced from the housing for performing a cutting action, the first end of the blade being exposed. The rotating blade carriage can be rotated with respect to the housing and placed in a second position so that the opposite end of the same blade is exposed for performing a cutting action when advanced. The rotating blade carriage can be selectively locked in the first or second position. A carriage locking lever can be accessible for unlocking the rotating blade carriage for blade reversal. When removal of the used or worn blade is desired, the knife can have one or more blade release members that allow the disengagement of the blade from the knife so that the user can manually remove the blade without the requirement of disassembly or partial disassembly of the knife.

  • Patent number: 8208351
Abstract: An optical storage medium playback apparatus includes an optical storage access device, a connection port, and a controller. The optical storage access device is implemented for reading a multimedia content from an optical storage medium. The controller is coupled to the optical storage access device and the connection port, and is implemented for storing a portion of the multimedia content read from the optical storage medium into an external storage via the connection port when the external storage is electrically connected to the connection port, and for accessing the portion of the multimedia content which is stored in the external storage electrically connected to the connection port and performing a playback operation upon data read from the optical storage medium concurrently.

  • Publication number: 20110119928
Abstract: A utility knife has a receiving cavity which opens through the body. A cartridge comprising a magazine of blades is removably insertable into the receiving cavity. A carrier within the body is manually operable for receiving a blade from the cartridge and positioning the blade for extension through the opening to present a cutting edge. The cartridge may be released from the utility knife body by depressing a button and withdrawing the cartridge. The cartridge is releasably held in place within the knife body and releasable when the blade carrier is in its retracted position and the release button is depressed. When the thumb button moves the blade carrier into its extended position to expose the knife blade, the cartridge is rendered unreleaseable even if the release button is depressed.

  • Publication number: 20100166169
Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating business promotional material with voice calling are described. The business sponsors a customer to sign up for an outgoing calling account with a promotional calling service provider company. The service provider identifies an user as a customer of the sponsor and therefore assigns one dedicated speed dial extension to connect directly to the sponsor. Other frequently called numbers are stored in a phone book at other speed dial locations. Sponsor gets to promote themselves to the sponsored user when the user sets up/maintains his/her online account or makes a call.
