  • Publication number: 20020052902
Abstract: The present invention relates to method and system for converting a source string being encoded according to the Unicode standard into a target string which is to be encoded according to mixed codepages. It is proposed to associate a predetermined priority with each sub-codepage, and converting the characters strictly according to said priority sequence without using a mapping table in order to find out in which of the plurality of sub-codepages the target character and its encoding is stored. Advantageously, the sub-codepage which comprises the most frequently used characters is associated with the highest priority, and that one with the most rarely used characters is associated with the lowest priority.

  • Patent number: 4825455
Abstract: The invention relates to a collimator for an X-ray mammography. A cone which is connected to the radiation source defines a radiation field which corresponds to the format of the image pickup. This radiation field is further restricted by a pivotable diaphragm plate arranged in the cone. The radiation field can be adapted to the anatomy of the object to be imaged by pivoting the diaphragm plate.

  • Patent number: 4783319
Abstract: The apparatus is composed of a flow-through mixer which is followed by a repressing means composed of a cylinder and movable piston downstream in the direction of the conveying stream. In order to avoid cross-sectional constrictions in this apparatus due to sedimentation of reaction resin compounds and/or filler, a flow-through mixer integrated in the piston is provided, the discharge opening of this flow-through mixer discharging directly into the cylinder of the repressing means. The overall apparatus functions in a direct flow-through, i.e. the dwell time of the reactive resin compounds in the apparatus is limited to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 4715795
Abstract: In order to enable a conveying from a vacuum into a vacuum when metering liquid components of reaction resin compounds, a metering pump comprising a reciprocating displacement member is employed wherein the intake valve and the discharge valve are fashioned as dish valves controllable from the outside in constrained fashioned including valve stems coaxially seated in the pump head. No noteworthy wear of the valves occurs even when metering liquid components of reaction resin compounds having abrasive fillers.

  • Patent number: 4648208
Abstract: An automobile door is proposed with a unit carrier on which built-in units, especially a complete window winder with window pane can be preassembled. Only afterwards on preassembly the unit carrier is brought together with the door's outer shell to form the door. Both door hinges as well as a door lock are secured on the unit carrier.

  • Patent number: 4646340
Abstract: The invention relates to a scatter grid drive for oscillating a scatter grid back and forth during an exposure. The reversal point, at which the direction of movement of grid is reversed, is passed so quickly that there is little risk of imaging the grid in the radiograph.

  • Patent number: 4636146
Abstract: An axial plunger pump for high pressure purposes using three plungers in a star like arrangement around an axis of a wobble plate. Each plunger has associated therewith a pumping unit and all pumping units are located in a common pumping unit block and each of the pumping units comprising a pump chamber having inlet and outlet valves connected to a common inlet duct and outlet duct respectively. Plunger cylinders of at least one of the plungers are connected to pump chamber at a position between the inlet valve and the outlet valve while the plunger cylinder of at least another plunger is connected to the associated pump chamber at a position below the inlet valve.

  • Patent number: 4611563
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for self-igniting internal combustion engines includes a displaceable control slide which is operative for blocking a relief conduit provided in the pump for controlling an outflow of a partial quantity of fuel in the pump for affecting the injection time. The control slide is arbitrarily displaceable by a rocker lever which is actuated by a driver by an adjusting lever positioned outside the pump.

  • Patent number: 4407253
Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed in which, at relatively low rpm, there is an outflow of a partial quantity of fuel for the purpose of prolonging the injection time. This outflow begins only after the injection has already begun.

  • Patent number: 4197790
Abstract: A single folded carton or box is removed from a magazine and is held by suction cups or the like at one side while being moved into contact with a fixed member which exerts an opening force on the folded box. When thus erected, the box is placed onto a moving conveyor belt for further use. The removal, opening and placement on the conveyor are executed in a substantially single sweeping motion of a transport arm which is moved by a system of articulated levers. After placement of the box on the conveyor, the levers retract the arm and return it to its starting position.

  • Patent number: 4100843
Abstract: A method for opening and erecting folded box blanks provides that one side of the blank is grasped and bent outwardly to acquire convex curvature, thereby causing opposite sides of the blank to move away from it, leaving a gap which initiates the opening process. An apparatus for practicing the method provides two suction cups to perform the bending and a stop to apply a force against a bent edge of the blank to cause the erection of the blank to assume its final form.

  • Patent number: 3943695
Abstract: This invention relates to electric clocks and chart recorders driven by crystal controlled electric motors. The motor includes two stator plates, a rotor and a drive coil surrounding the legs of the stator plates. The rotor carries a pinion which drives the first gear of a mechanical gear train located between two side plates consisting of synthetic resin material. One of the side plates carries at least one bearing for the rotor and a plurality of projections which fit into holes in the stator plates and serve to position the stator plates in relation to the rotor. Electric pulses are supplied to the drive coil by an electronic frequency divider circuit having a push-pull output stage; a zener diode is connected in parallel with the power supply to the divider circuit and the drive coil to enable the motor to operate satisfactorily over a range of supply voltages.
