  • Patent number: 4360953
Abstract: A display and burial system wherein a base has a lid member associated therewith which is movable between closed and open viewing positions. A two-part link holds the lid member in open viewing position with one link part pivotally connected to the lid member and the other link part being releasably connectable to a frame member of the base by entry into a slot or recess therein when the link is partially collapsed. An end of the second link part engages a pin within the recess and, thereafter, the lid member is moved to fully open position and the link parts move to a straight-line relation wherein the link is locked to the pin within the recess and the lid member is securely held in open viewing position. A reversal of steps enables disconnection of the link from the base with the link retaining its connection to the lid member and being collapsible to a storage position within the lid member.

  • Patent number: 4177543
Abstract: A display casket for removably holding a body display container having a continuous lateral flange around its upper periphery with the casket having a casing with front, rear and side walls, a bottom and a lid, with each of the walls having an upper surface to engage under the lateral flange of the display container for support thereof. The display casket has a first set of hinges with removable hinge pins pivotally mounting the lid to the rear wall. A second hinge interconnects the casing and the lower edge of the rear wall for downward pivoting of the rear wall, and a releasable latch holds the rear wall in upright position. Pivot structure coacts between the front wall and the lid to enable reverse inclination of the lid for insertion and removal of a body display container relative to the casket through an opening provided by downward pivoting of the rear wall.

  • Patent number: 4139929
Abstract: An integrated display and burial containment system utilizing a display container which may be removably mounted in a display unit for viewing and, thereafter, removed from the display unit and associated with additional structure, dependent upon ultimate disposition, such as ground burial, cremation or entombment in a mausoleum. For other than ground burial, the display container may have a cover unit associated therewith and for ground burial, a cover unit of a configuration similar to the first-mentioned cover unit, but of greater strength, is associated with a structural outer base in which the display container is positioned.
