Abstract: Described is a measuring device for the measurement of bioluminescence, chemoluminescence or fluorescence of objects. The measuring device comprises a light-tight housing (10) enclosing a measuring chamber (K) and a highly sensitive camera (40) looking into the measuring chamber. Arranged in the measuring chamber (K) is a vertically extending rotary shaft (24) for the arrangement of a rotary disk (20) and, in a first state of operation, the line of vision of the camera (40) is substantially horizontal. This makes the measuring device suitable in particular for the observation of plants. Also described is an irradiation device that can be used in conjunction with such a measuring device, a system comprising a measuring device and an irradiation device, and methods for the observation of plants using such a measuring system.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring photon emissions from marked cells. The apparatus has the following components: a rotatable, at least partly transparent growth chamber/bioreactor (10) for accommodation of cell cultures, growth media and active substances; a light detector for detection of the photons emitted from the marked cells from the growth chamber (10); and a light-tight enclosure of at least the emission path of the photons from the growth chamber (10) to the light detector. The apparatus may be used for carrying out methods by which the effect of active substances on transfected cells is measured (FIG. 1).
