  • Publication number: 20040014557
Abstract: An electronic transmission control system is provided that can achieve a transmission ratio based on the operator inputs and the current vehicle operating conditions. The transmission constantly connects the engine to the load, and the transmission ratio is only varied by a change in command from the present invention. The transmission's mechanical function is solely to vary the ratio between its input and output. In using the present invention, an operator must select an operating mode, either automatic or manual, using a two-position switch. While in the automatic mode, the present invention determines the vehicle speed by considering the position of the throttle and the operator's use of brakes. In the manual mode, the present invention further considers the operator's selection of a gear condition.

  • Patent number: 5792013
Abstract: Rocker link elements (32, 33), which are located in pairs for connection of plate links (40), have end facing friction surfaces (43) which are essentially part spherical, for cooperation with essentially part spherical cone surfaces of cone disks (3, 4, 7, 8, 24-27). A base or central surface line is located approximately at a radial position of engagement with the end facing surfaces (43) of the rocker elements (32, 33) with the cone surfaces of the cones when the transmission is set for a transmission ratio of 1:1. To prevent engagement of edge regions of the rocker link elements with the respective cone disks, surface lines (54, 55) located radially outwardly, or inwardly, respectively, from a central surface line (49, 53), are inclined by an angle (.delta.), with respect to the base or central surface line. The angle of inclination (.delta.

  • Patent number: 5703345
Abstract: A control system for a hydrostatically driven vehicle comprises a hydraulic drive system having a hydraulic drive unit. An electronic control unit on the machine being driven is operatively connected to the hydraulic drive unit and is adapted to transmit and receive electronically data with respect to the drive unit. An external operator control unit is comprised of a data card inserted into a manual control means and is detachably connected to the electronic control unit. The data carrier card has an interface capable of transmitting data into and receiving data from the hydraulic drive unit to the electronic control unit. The data carrier card and the external operator control unit have memory capability.

  • Patent number: 5632424
Abstract: A sock donning assist device that allows a caretaker to put a sock on a disabled person who can not put the sock on themselves. The sock donning assist device includes a hollow rigid substantially L-shaped frame. The hollow rigid substantially L-shaped frame consists of a plurality of different sized and shaped slender members. The plurality of different sized and shaped slender members form a substantially vertically-oriented portion for retaining a sock during donning wherein the sock has an upper portion and a lower portion, and a horizontally-oriented portion extending forwardly from the substantially vertically-oriented portion of the hollow rigid substantially L-shaped frame for gripping by a user during donning the sock.

  • Patent number: 5630534
Abstract: A multiple leg covering donning assist device that includes a hollow horizontally-oriented and substantially opened-front base frame, a pair of hollow substantially vertically-oriented side frames, and a pair of hollow tandemly-positioned and substantially vertically-oriented intermediate frames. The hollow horizontally-oriented and substantially opened-front base frame has ends. The pair of hollow substantially vertically-oriented side frames are gripped by a user and extend vertically upwardly and slightly rearwardly from the ends of the hollow horizontally-oriented and substantially opened-front base frame and have a height.

  • Patent number: 5258778
Abstract: A character generator for use in a non-mechanical printer is embodied in an electrophotographic printer. A character generator (1) having a plurality of light sources (113) is provided in a non-mechanical printer. The light sources (113) are secured to the character generator (1) in the form of chips (112). Given outage of a light source (113) it is not possible without further ado to replace individual chips (112) and the complete character generator (1) must be replaced.Inventively, the character generator (1) is modularly constructed, i.e. individual modules (11) each having a respective plurality of light sources (113) are detachably secured to a module carrier (13), so that individual modules (11) can be very easily replaced given the outage of individual light sources (113) or of other electronic component parts.

  • Patent number: 5043296
Abstract: An assembly process for strip-shaped LED chips (112) in a row on a solid metal carrier (M) is to be specified. The observation of strictest tolerances in all three directions, i.e. in view of division spacing, trueness to line and surface planarity, is thereby required. On the other hand, an optimum thermal coupling to the metal carrier (M) is required for the illumination of the high dissipated heat from the LEDs (113) of a LED chip (112). The LED chips (112) are applied on to the metal carrier (M) in a transfer process. To that end, the LEDs have their faces glued onto an auxiliary carrier (H1) positioned with high precision and the LED row (114) prefabricated in this fashion is then soldered onto the previously solder-coated metal carrier (M). The auxiliary carrier (H1) is subsequently removed.

  • Patent number: 4964299
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring, in a tire testing machine, radial and axial forces at a wheel consisting of a pneumatic tire and a rim. The measuring axle, on which the wheel is rotatably disposed during the measuring run, has two cylindrical axle parts, of which the first, interior axle part is mounted so that it can be moved radially and frictionlessly in a straight line, and the second, exterior axle part, in axial direction, is frictionlessly located on the first axle part. For introduction of the axial forces, a first force measuring device is provided that is connected with a tension-compression rod that is rigidly connected with the second axle part, and for measuring the radial forces, a second force measuring device is connected between the base plate and the first axle part.

  • Patent number: 4945956
Abstract: For decanting toner from a supply bottle into the toner reservoir, an under-pressure is generated in the toner reservoir with the assistance of an exhauster fan. The toner reservoir is connected via a flexible hose to a suction nozzle that can be inserted into the transport container. This suction nozzle is composed of an inside tube that is in communication with the flexible line and of an outside tube that completely surrounds the inside tube at a distance therefrom, this outside tube being open to the environment in its upper part and comprising toner entry openings in its lower part. The air flowing through draws the toner through the toner entry openings. The toner reservoir itself is divided into a settling space and into a suction space, these spaces being separated by a filter. The filter arcs under the influence of the flowing air stream. When it arcs back, the toner adhering thereto breaks off and falls into the settling space.

  • Patent number: 4780731
Abstract: An electrophotographic printer having an optical character generator and an exposure energy correcting means formed of a light-emitting diode strip for the optical character generator. Upon call-in of a balancing routing, an automatic balancing of the light-emitting elements occurs by use of a photoelement which acquires a radiant intensity transmitted onto the recording medium by every light-emitting element under prescribed normal operating conditions, and which supplies corresponding signals to a control means coupled to the light-emitting element. The control means then assigns every light-emitting element an individual actuation time and stores this in a switching time memory. Upon actuation, every light-emitting element thus supplies the same radiant energy to the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 4466728
Abstract: In a developer station for an electrophotographic printing or copying machine, there is provided apparatus which serves to effectively prevent toner dust emergence from the lower region of the developer station which could cause undesirable inking of background areas on the charge image carrier passing through the developer station. This apparatus comprises a generally laterally extending guide plate assembly disposed adjacent the open upper end of the developer station and extending between the magnetic drum or developing roller and an adjacent station sidewall.
