  • Publication number: 20090290676
Abstract: A nuclear-engineering installation has a pressurized-water reactor and a degasification system for reactor coolant. The degasification system has a degasification column which is coupled to the primary cooling circuit of the pressurized water reactor and further includes a coolant evaporator with a first heat exchanger and a stripping vapor condenser with a second heat exchanger, wherein a partial flow of the reactor coolant flows through the heat exchanger of the coolant evaporator on the secondary side, and wherein the heat exchanger of the stripping vapor condenser is connected, on the primary side, in a vapor and gas outlet line which is connected to the degasifier column.

  • Patent number: 7321650
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transferring an article from a fluid-filled first vessel into a fluid-filled second vessel or in the opposite direction. The vessel is connected by a connecting element, in which there is a transport device for moving the article. A fluid flow flowing out of the first vessel is maintained in one part of the connecting element, while the article is transported through the connecting element. An apparatus for transferring an article, in particular a nuclear fuel element, between the vessels is also described, in which an extraction device for the discharge of fluid is located on the connecting element.

  • Patent number: 6656338
Abstract: For dosing lithium in cooling water containing cationic impurities or for reducing cationic impurities, the invention guides cooling water cycle through a first side of an electrodialysis unit and guides a concentration cycle through a second side of the electrodialysis unit. Cationic impurities are filtered out of the medium of the concentration cycle with a selective ion exchanger that is disposed in the concentration cycle.

  • Publication number: 20010021238
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for separating a neutron absorber from a coolant of a nuclear facility are provided. The coolant is evaporated by heating. Discharged coolant vapor is compressed in a compressor while the temperature increases and is used for the evaporation of further coolant. A fraction of the compressed coolant vapor is preferably fed to a condenser. A purging-gas configuration and a sealing-fluid configuration are preferably provided.
