  • Patent number: 6828072
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for preparing a toner mixture comprising mixing a first toner with at least one further toner wherein the first toner has an acid value of from 0.1 to 30 mgKOH/g and comprises at least one binder resin and at least one coloring agent wherein said binder comprises as the main component a polyester resin and wherein the further toners comprise at least a binder resin and optionally at least one coloring agent. It also describes a developer composition comprising said toner mixture and optionally a carrier. The new toner mixture does not show any de-mixing phenomenon during repeated use.

  • Publication number: 20040023142
Abstract: The present invention relates to a universal carrier for a two-component developer comprising a carrier base component and a carrier preaging component that comprises at least one toner resin and/or at least one surface additive, the carrier base component being present in the form of at least partially abraded particles and part of the carrier preaging component adhering to the outside surfaces of the particles of the carrier base component and part of the carrier preaging component being contained in surface depressions of the particles of the carrier base component. Compositions comprising the inventive universal carrier and usual toners yield a two-component developer that requires no toner-specific preaging but can be used directly in the printer.

  • Patent number: 6377768
Abstract: A device and method for inking a charge pattern of a carrier medium. The device includes a toner sprayer that generates and directs a mixed toner stream onto a surface of an application element. The mixed toner stream includes a number of charge toner and air particles and forms a toner layer when the mixed toner stream contacts the application element surface. The application element is movably positioned in close proximity to the carrier medium for transferring the charged toner particles onto the charge pattern of the carrier medium for inking the same.
