Patent number: 10882649Abstract: A drive unit for a strapping device strapping an item to be packed with a plastic tape which is laid around it includes a motorized tensioning device and a motorized welding device for the plastic tape. The tensioning and welding device can be driven by the same electric motor which can be brought alternatively into an operative connection with the devices with freewheels connected therebetween. A problem has occurred in drive units of this type that they are relatively complicated to assembly and have problematic operational reliability under certain boundary conditions. To bypass these problems, the electric motor includes at least one shell extension which protrudes beyond it at one axial end with the result that the drive elements which have up to now been mounted separately in the housing of a strapping device can be supported directly on the electric motor which then acts as a drive unit.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2015Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: FROMM HOLDING AGInventor: Manfred Rauch

Patent number: 6463847Abstract: A hoop-casing device comprising means for stretching a strip and for friction welding two overlapping ribbon parts between two welding cheeks (2,3). Each means is assigned a motor, a switch (4,5) for control by a control circuit, and a cam (6,7) to actuate said switch. Both cams (6,7) are pivotally mounted on a corresponding shaft part (10,32) around a common axis of rotation in an adjustable relative rotating position. One of the welding cheeks (2) can be orthogonally adjusted in relation to the axis of rotation (8) by means of a cam gear. The cam gear has a cam disk which can rotate along with one of the cams (6) around an axis (8) in addition to a telescopic tappet which is functionally arranged between the cam disk and the welding cheek (2). The telescopic tappet can be telescopically inserted and extended in an orthogonal position relative to the axis of rotation (8) and is spring loaded in relation to its extension.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2000Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Assignee: Fromm Holding AGInventor: Manfred Rauch

Patent number: 6016217Abstract: The invention refers to micro swivel actuators and a procedure for the manufacturing of the same. The micro swivel actuators consist basically of a semiconductor wafer equipped with three layers, which contains on the one hand individual mirrors with integrated springs and support elements as mechanical components and on the other hand electrodes, feeder lines and electrical contacts as electrical arrangements. The manufacturing of the micro swivel actuators utilizes procedure steps from the field of surface micromechanics, so that well-tried technologies are being applied. The micro swivel actuators, especially the micromechanical mirror arrays, are in particular suited for applications in the pictorial reproduction technique via laser beam. With these actuators, a laser beam can be directed by turning several parallel triggered individual mirrors.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1998Date of Patent: January 18, 2000Assignee: CMS Mikrosystene GmbH ChemnitzInventors: Wolfram Dotzel, Thomas Gessner, Ramon Hahn, Christian Kaufmann, Heinz-Ulrich Lowe, Joachim Markert, Manfred Rauch, Udo Wollmann

Patent number: 4488926Abstract: Apparatus for securing a synthetic thermoplastic strap in a band-like form around an object includes a strap support with a clamping device, a stretching device, and a welding device cooperating with the strap support for holding, stretching, welding and cutting the strap. These various devices can be displaced from the surface of the strap support so that the strap can be inserted laterally onto the support. Strap guidance members are provided at the opposite ends of the strap support. One strap guidance member forms a part of the welding device and includes a guide member. The guide member is retractable away from the surface of the strap support during the welding operation so that it does not interfere with the movement of the strap parts being joined together.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1982Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Assignee: Fromm AGInventors: Manfred Rauch, Wenzel Synek
