  • Patent number: 8627393
Abstract: During tuner manufacture, the unique power parameters as a function of frequency and channel are stored on a memory unique to each tuner. When the tuner is subsequently incorporated into another device, such as a modem, the stored power parameters are made available to the subsequent device, thereby overriding the need for subsequent calibration tests to be run. The stored parameters aid in remote testing of the communication device and also allow for individual channel by channel setting of TOP levels.

  • Publication number: 20030006785
Abstract: A temperature detection device is provided for an electronic circuit, in particular for a HF tuner. The temperature detection device comprises a temperature detector, an analog-to-digital converter and a standardized serial bus. At its output the temperature detector makes available a temperature-dependent voltage that is a predetermined function of the temperature. The temperature-dependent voltage is applied to the input of the analog-to-digital converter. On its output side, the analog-to-digital converter is coupled to the standardized serial bus.

  • Patent number: 6169569
Abstract: A cable modem is configured to include a tuner having a front end which includes a duplex filter stage and a decoupler stage and a rear end which includes a single conversion tuner. The duplex filter stage couples the tuner to a network, a computer system and the front end decoupler stage. Signals received from the network are directed by the front end duplex filter stage to the front end decoupler stage while signals received from the computer system are directed by the front end duplex filter stage to the network. The front end decoupler stage passes RF signals received at an input thereof to an input of the single conversion tuner coupled to an output of the front end decoupler circuit. The single conversion tuner selects, from the plurality of RF signals received thereby, an RF signal to be converted into an IF signal for output therefrom while rejecting the remainder of the plurality of RF signals.
