  • Publication number: 20020046634
Abstract: Device and method for dividing media in assembly machines, comprising a pneumatic linear guide unit with fitted stroke limiting units, the media being movable on a support in a first direction. A carriage has a linear movement in a direction which runs transversely with respect to the first direction. A holder is attached to the carriage and a knife is attached to the holder by way of a rotatable shaft. Constructional elements convert linear movement of the carriage into a rotational movement of the knife, wherein the knife cuts transversely through the media while the tape is firmly held on the support.

  • Patent number: 6094810
Abstract: A device for separating at least one item from a housing part includes a gripping device, a pushing-out means and, if appropriate, a sensing device for identifying the item. The separating device can be used expediently for installations for the disassembly of cassettes or cartridges for audio, video, data or film applications.

  • Patent number: 6007013
Abstract: A winding aid for thin tape strips on tape reels or hubs with or without flange(s) comprises a winding arm having a stationary winding surface and rotatable guiding surface(s) arranged adjacent and perpendicular thereto. This improves the quality of the rolls of tape produced from thin tape strips, such as films, magnetic tapes etc.

  • Patent number: 5979282
Abstract: A cutter-infeed apparatus for cutting installations for articles in tape or strip form or film-like articles, circular cutters being fastened on upper and lower shafts and displaced with respect to one another for fixing the cutter infeed, and an electrical insulation between the upper and lower shafts making it possible to detect the cutter contact during infeeding and thereby make the infeeding operation automatable. It is also possible to make the infeeding of the individual cutters or cutter-box cutters such that it can be set depending on the difference in speed of the upper and lower shafts. The apparatus can be used for cutting machines of all types in which thin, uncoated or coated polymer films or metal foils can be cut.

  • Patent number: 5950950
Abstract: A mechanical and finishing and/or signal processing apparatus for tapes, in particular magnetic tapes, includes at least two tape transporting devices, which apply an average tape tension of 2 N per inch (25.4 mm) of tape width and consequently remain below about 20% of the maximum tensile force of the tape material, to avoid permanent material deformations. The processing devices may be smoothing, abrading, polishing and cleaning devices and also signal recording/reproducing devices and/or signal or tape quality control devices.

  • Patent number: 5658618
Abstract: A method for reducing the abrasiveness of a coated product web is described, in which the product web is guided with its coated side over a deflection roller (2) and thereafter, in the course of a contact zone over guide rollers and deflection rollers or linear zones in between, is treated with itself, ie. once again with an abrasive surface. The abrasive action can be controlled in a specific manner through the relative speeds of the two surfaces, the tape tension and the length of the contact surface. Abraded particles present on the layer surface are subsequently removed by extraction.

  • Patent number: 5597132
Abstract: This tape winding arm is part of a winding device for film strips, tape or other similar medium, where the medium is wound up onto rolls. The medium passes over the end of the winding arm along guiding and deflecting elements on a cushion of compressed air, which is supplied through a hollow in the arm, and past a rotating pinch roller. This pinch roller is also part of the winding arm, and the winding arm is made of lightweight metal and pivots, so that its pinch roller rests on the tape roll, helping to ensure even winding through constant contact with the roll. The winding arm consists of two parts screwed together at the pivot point; this allows easy disassembly and removal from the pivot spindle.
