Abstract: A method for producing a marketable package including an outer packaging for receiving a portable data carrier, and a portable data carrier. The data carrier possesses a viewing side and an underside and bears a secret code internally as well as identification information on the outer side. The identification information is applied to the underside of the data carrier in the form of a two-dimensional bar code, and the outer packaging is configured to be transparent on the underside so that the identification information can be read out through the outer packaging after the data carrier has been inserted into the outer packaging.

Abstract: There is proposed a method for producing a marketable package comprising an outer packaging (34, 40) for receiving a portable data carrier, and a portable data carrier (10). The data carrier (10) possesses a viewing side (12) and an underside (16) and bears a secret code internally as well as identification information on the outer side. According to the invention, the identification information is applied to the underside (16) of the data carrier (10) in the form of a two-dimensional bar code (20), and the outer packaging (34, 40) is configured to be transparent on the underside (16) so that the identification information can be read out through the outer packaging (34, 40) after the data carrier (10) has been inserted into the outer packaging (34, 40).
