  • Patent number: 10616808
Abstract: In an embodiment, a client device receives a set of network registration credentials configured to authorize access to one or more network services provided by a network server. The client device shares the set of network registration credentials with an external device (e.g., a peer client device or an access point) via D2D. In another embodiment, a device (e.g., the external device or a different device) receives the set of network registration credentials via D2D and interacts with the network server to access a network service using the set of network registration credentials. • Patent number: 10517003
Abstract: A wireless communication device having a first SIM and a second SIM and a radio frequency (RF) resource including multiple receive chains and at least one transmit chain may detect, during a connection to a first network associated with the first SIM, a start of a communication activity associated with the second SIM that uses one or more transmit chains and one or more of the receive chains. The wireless communication device may determine whether a carrier frequency of a cell serving the network associated with the first SIM is within a downlink frequency range supported by an unused receive chain of the RF resource. If not, the wireless communication device may identify a neighbor cell of the first network with a carrier frequency within a downlink frequency range supported by an unused receive chain of the RF resource, and attempt to camp the first SIM on that neighbor cell.

  • Publication number: 20180084487
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may search for a first network associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) during a first time period in a RAT search cycle. The UE may search, when service is not acquired, for a second network associated with a second RAT during a second time period in the RAT search cycle. The UE may identify a radio frequency (RF) spectrum overlap in which a first RF band associated with the first RAT overlaps with a second RF band associated with the second RAT. When service is not acquired with respect to the second RAT, the UE may scan for RF energy corresponding to the second RF band of the second RAT. Then, the UE may determine whether to perform a subsequent search for the first network in the first RF band of the first RAT.

  • Publication number: 20150341833
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to cell reselection procedures that can mitigate adjacent channel interference (ACI) related problems in a wireless network. A mobile station (MS) determines a signal level quality for each of a plurality of cells including a serving cell and a plurality of neighbor cells. The MS further determines ACI in each of the plurality of cells in a same public land mobile network (PLMN). In addition, the MS performs a cell reselection procedure based on a respective signal level quality and ACI of the plurality of cells in the same PLMN.

  • Patent number: 9107117
Abstract: The various embodiments provide methods for implementing a forced reselection strategy after causing colliding subscriptions to perform reselection to neighboring cells. In various embodiments, the MSMS communication device may undo the effects of forced reselection in certain situations when continuing to employ forced reselection may be ineffective. In other embodiments, the MSMS communication device may force reselecting subscriptions to reselect to neighboring cells in a paging group based on the page timings of the neighboring cells. Thus, the various embodiments may increase the performance of the colliding subscriptions and may enhance the user's overall experience.

  • Publication number: 20150146627
Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and apparatus to improve public land mobile network search time. A user equipment (UE) may determine a subset of channels within a frequency band based on a stored identifier of a channel used by a previously acquired cell, each channel in the subset being spaced from the channel used by the previously acquired cell by a different multiple of a set spacing, the set spacing being greater than a spacing between adjacent channels. The subset of channels may be scanned to determine a signal strength of each channel in the subset. The UE may rank each channel in the subset according to the determined signal strength of the channel and attempt to acquire a cell using a channel in the subset based on the ranking.
